It would be a better idea than the kit sponsorship.

It would be cool to get the BBS name on the north stand and round the ground if we won the lottery...

We're just not sure we'd raise the money in 10 days! Although if we got a lot of takers for email addresses it might be possible.

    By the way

    We got the following response:

    Paul

I am just checking through Rachel’s emails and notice your email with regard to the Player’s Kit Sponsorship for next season. Looking through the sent items I cannot see that she replied to your email. She is now on holiday so I am following up all her emails etc from last week.

At present we are waiting for renewals of all last seasons’ kit sponsorship and we should know who is keeping what by the end of this week. So far quite a number have renewed. The price for the sponsorship is £400 + VAT. This includes programme recognition, presentation of the shirt and shorts of your chosen players at a special end of season presentation after the last home game. This would be the perfect opportunity to get the shirt signed. You will also receive a photograph of this presentation.

At present I can confirm that the players available are:

    Bobby Hassell – Away

    Dale Tonge – Away

    Robbie Williams – Away

Simon Heslop – Home and Away

    Rob Atkinson – Away

    Tom Harban – Away

Ryan Laight – Home and Away

Also any new signings will be available as soon as they are announced. These will be on a first come first served basis.

I hope this gives you all the information you require, if you need anything else please give me a call at the club or email me on marketing@barnsleyfc.co.uk

    Many Thanks for the enquiry.

    Darren

    Sounds a good idea BUT

not many were interested in the player's kit idea, so I doubt you'd get everyone on here to chip in!

What about sponsoring Michael McIndoe ?

BARNSLEY FC are looking for both home and away kit sponsors for our latest signings Michael McIndoe and Sam Togwell.

Michael has penned a two-year deal at Oakwell this morning and joins from rivals Doncaster Rovers while Sam completed his switch from Crystal Palace yesterday.

Kit Sponsorship for the 2006/2007 season is priced at £400.00 (plus VAT) for either home or away or £600 (plus VAT) for the pair.

Sponsors will receive your player's signed match shirt at the end of the season. Full package details to be confirmed.

To sponsor either Michael or Sam, phone the Marketing Department today on 01226 211211.

£400 is a bit steep is it not?

I remember about 3 or 4 season's ago to sponsor the shirt of a player at Reading Royals Ladies football club (ie, readings women's team, well actually girls) it was a shocking £2k

    RE: Ouch

And your name/company name in the matchday programme next to the player's name.

I don't think you get anything apart from that.

It would be nice if they got something else for sponsoring players shirts but I suppose there isn't that much that you could get really.

Just seems a bit steep for what you actually get in return

For a normal person i.e. not a company looking for publicity, having your name in the programme doesn't really benefit you, does it?

And to get a signed shirt, it'd cost about £50 including name and number, and then 5 minutes to ask the player to sign it. So, that leaves £350...that's an expensive photograph to have taken!
