We all know that (some) of the people at BFC are sh*te at earning the club money, but this isn't a thread about that.

Thought it would be interesting if any of us forumites could think of any ideas for making more money off the pitch for the club.

And who knows, maybe someone will look and take notice!!

The ones i can think of are:

-Have a market/car boot sale on Oakwell car park every week, charge £10 a stall or something

-Put up advertising sheets on the thousands of empty seats in the North Stand when the away following is going to be small.

-Put up advertising sheets in the right end of the West Stand, never gets used anyway, except from Cup matches.

Can anyone think of any other income revenues that can be explored??

That should definately happen. Also get some rides for the kids and some food stalls around.

We should make t shirts from famous matches and I don't mean that shitty Leeds game shirt we made.

Tenner a time like they normally are on those plain red t shirts. On the front maybe an image from the match and on the back something like the score, team line ups, attendance etc.

Get some friendlys at oakwell against Polish teams, put polish beer and food on behind the bar, do programs in polish, and sign that Polish kid form Forest along with a few from the polish U21S, theres millions of um over here and they love football, one day a club will tap into there pockets and be on a nice little earner so why can't it be us first.

    Definitely agree with cancelling outsourcing.

Get in some Ale from Acorn Brewery too.

Like the idea about tapping into different nationalities, like that thing with the christians in China coming to tarn for that birthplace of the bloke who took it over there. Get some Chinese investment in! haha

Obvious ones are host music events and of course sell ale and show live games in the concourse. Until then it's the pubs in town with all the trade up until kick off when it's a big lunchtime match

Dyson, are you lad on here that goes to Chesterfield sometimes?

They've got it spot on with catering, local butcher makes all pies and they sell drinks at a reasonable price. Sky sports on before game with a pie and a decent pint, I'm sure we'd make some money from it.

a local butcher must make a few quid out of tran fans anyway, the amount of people i see getting, a pie, pig roll, or sandwich, out of a white paper bag at half time is unreal,

Totally agree, plus it gets people in ground a bit earlier and people are getting some decent snap and don't feel like they're being robbed. Even if the club didn't make any more money from it I'd still like to see us do it.

    No that's me.

Chesterfields infrastructure is a country mile ahead of barnsleys. Everything's in house. Beers almost a quid cheaper for draught rather than cans.

Like a lot of places/companies they seem to look too short term in regards to making money, anything that doesn't instantly make cash they don't seem to entertain such as that chesterfield type approach. It would be interesting to see how much they got for outsourcing against what could be brought in if was successfully catered and popular.

Does anyone know if This thread posted 4 weks ago ever reached anyone at the club?? I have recently been looking at other sporting industries and Horse racing had the idea, If we have an audience of 3000 watching the racing, why dont we do something to keep them here after racing to make money. The introduction of Live bands after racing has proved give some courses their best attended meetings of the year. My thoughts were to start the year off with a bang.... The program would be something like:

Saturday Morning, Fairground Attrractions , including food stalls, Rides for the kids, etc. FOLLOWED BY THE REDS FIRST HOME GAME OF THE SEASON. After game entertainment continues with the fairground etc... and LIVE music BAND AT 8PM....FOLLOWED BY 5AM car boot sale in the carpark....

It would be nice if someone had the ear of someone in the club to report back if any of these Ideas were, considered or even listened to..

I like that "The Rowing Rate".
