Its my son's 8th Birthday at the end of May and i'm struggling with what to do for his party...
We've done the old football/bowling/swimming parties and really fancied doing something different,
Cost or travelling isn't a problem, within reason...
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, cheers in advance

Xscape at Castleford Toboggoning, laser quest, climbing wall etc, then eat at BK, KFC, McD, Pizzahut etc. Just got to drive all the kids there
Done similar to this for my ten year old. Eight kids in a Limo (one in barnsley is an american police car/fire engine etc) to Xscape, couple of half hours in lazer zone (which kids love) and then a session on the snow, sledging is £18 an hour but discounts for groups then tea at frankie and bennys or pizza hut (not my idea of gourmet, but goes down well with kids. after they'll be **ackered but happy and you'll be skint

Hire a 5 bedroomed villa in Ibiza for a dads andkids holiday and arrange a few full time baby sitters and take a few board games.

What about go karting? http://www.karting-nation.co.uk/kar...o=Ballistic-Karting&in=barnsley&areaID=113148
For his 9th birthday... we took our eldest and siblings to Parc Asterix in France. Way better than Disney, stayed in the Trois Hiboux on site for three nights and had two full days in the park. Tell em its a birthday and you get a discount and birthday cake etc... Well worth it as there is far more to do for the 6 to 12 age group and it aint as sacharrine sweet as the Disney thing. Cheaper for parents an all. www.parcasterix.fr
Any nature trails guided pond dipping, bat watch, moth gathering, insect safari type things available? With the right knowledge at hand, these can be fascinating (and you've got one over on them by secretly educating them into the bargain).
