How many would attract enquiries from other Championship clubs??

I'd say Casper, Edwards (based on his past career), JOB and Davies. Even the most desperate wouldn't look at some of our players.

Ruben will be the next player to go for peanuts after having a fantastic 1st half of season ala Butterfield.

I can see Keef letting him go in the summer. Seems to have gone backwards. V Poor at Hull when he came on.

Shame as he was playing well under Robins last season. So much for Keef bringing the young players on.

His injury might have taken its toll, but he looks too muscle bound for me

He's set up both our last two goals we've scored so he's not that poor. Plenty worse.

Keith's recent comments in the local rag can hardly have encouraged him. If he uses the same "mind games" with his players as he does with the public, I'm not surprised he's "gone backwards".

RNL is still a teenager with only a handful of appearances in the first team.

    My assessment of current squad

    Worth keeping:

    Steele
    Goldbourne
    Collins
    McNulty
    O Brien
    Perkins
    Doyle
    Davies
    Done

Digby & Dawson not seen enough, so maybe

The following arent good enough anymore or in Wisemans case, just gash:

    Wiseman
    Foster
    Hassell
    Edwards
    McEverley
    Gray
    Dagnall
    RNL

Plus all 6 loan players that we have currently.

I reckon Hill needs 2 centre halfs, a right back, 2 central midfield players, a left winger and 2 strikers = 8. With last years budget that was comparitively next to fck all.

I suspect we will set a world record for the number of trialists this summer.

Re: My assessment of current squad

Hassell, Foster, Wiseman, Edwards and RNL can all play a part. Some less than others, but I think need to be part of the squad.

McEverly is gone thankfully, Dagnall... i'd like to be kind so i'll quiet instead, and Gray.... if we can get much reduced terms, he's worth keeping around. He's scored abpout 1 in 3 this season and not completed many matches. If he can be a mentor for some of the kids coming through, thats not bad in my book.

I'd get rid of Doyle (we're going to have Perkins, Dawson, Digby and possibly McNulty contesting that defensove midfield spot next season so as Doyle is little different to the others and very expensive, I'd let him go.

I think we need a captain. A leader, a centre half. One creative midfielder who we spend most of our budget on who can make us tick and control the pace of a game. A winger attacker that has more threat and put more competition on O'Brien and Done and a striker who can get some goals and be swapped with Davies. 4 players of quality rather than 8 who are ok to modest.

Re: My assessment of current squad

Fair. I think with a run of games though Edwards could be the centre half we need alongside McNulty but need more than 10 games out of him.

But I don't think RNL is worth keeping - interesting he talks about Jordan Clark really highly.

Re: My assessment of current squad

This summer we need experienced championship quality players for the centre half, creative midfielder and striker positions. Hill cannot be wasting even more money on lower league players that haven't worked out and i'd like to see less loans next season.

Hill wanted a centre back what a 4/6 weeks ago and was quoted a 15k PW.
So he understands that needs sorting.
We've got Foster, Mcnulty and edwards along with collins. Now if collins is going to be used as a CB next season and Foster signs a new deal then we need to lose either Mcnulty or Edwards. Now i wouldnt like to lose Mcnulty and i just havent seen Edwards enough to say hes the leader we need.

To Dyson, sorry fella but thats harsh. RNL hasnt played enough becuase of injury. Hes had NO fitness base all season and thats a big problem for him. Not saying Clark isnt a really good talent but hes no better than RNL.

Re: My assessment of current squad

Thing is though, our 3 best players from early in the season were Butterfield (a young lad with little Championship experience), Drinkwater (a failure in the Championship according to Cardiff and Watford) and Vaz Te who was a Premiership and SPL reject. None of them had great credentials, and none of them were 'experienced championship quality.' From this evidence I believe your post is void.

Foster has been a mainstay in a ***** minus defense now for quite a few seasons so unless he's going to become awesome all of a sudden I don't know why he's getting a new contract.

McNulty started the season well but went downhill. I hope it's only because he wasn't used to playing so often so needs a rest.

Edwards is always injured. Is he made of glass?

Collins is looking alright but jury is still out as he's not played enough yet.
