.. And a walk in aid of charity .. (see link below) I am trying to organise a Barnsley to Huddersfield (optional fancy dress ) sponsored walk, for the last game of the season. Ideally, the plan is to fundraise for the organisation I work for .... The Federation of Disability Sports Organisations... (disability sport in the region) ... To support disabled people in Barnsley and Huddersfield (I am hoping to link up with Huddersfield fans and double the number, getting them to join the walk en route) . That said, if we get this off the ground, there would be nothing to stop individuals fund raising for their own causes. Long way off yet, but if you're interested in the walk, or helping out (relief cars etc) , let me know. I am speaking to organisations in Huddersfield regarding getting showered/ changed after the walk, leaving bags etc. By the way, I m not sure which route they took, but I'm sure it's only 15-16 mles, not 18. Anyone interested, PM me for further details. http://www.examiner.co.uk/news/loca...astic-fans-over-barnsley-walk-86081-32212756/
That's three of us then. I could seriously do without walking with just two people.... I'll be left on my own somewhere in Shelley knowing my luck. Anymore takers?
Tons! Seriously. I fully expect that if you do the walk, we won't see you in the ground. So, I'll count you in. I'm working on the best route, but will also try to arrange for pubs to welcome us, and have a deal on food at one of them. For anyone who did the walk to Chesterfield, they'll know how well appreciated the food deal was.
Through fields obviously !!! Haha Not looked properly, but I suspect the route via Denby Dale and Shelley has more pubs.
I'd be well up for something like this!! Never walked more than about 8 miles before though... might find it a struggle! Plenty of time to prepare myself though in the mean time!
It's an 18 mile pub crawl. Cawthorne down the hill to the star is it then the sovereign through Shelley black bull cask n spindle...
Five or six pubs between kirkburton and Waterloo. At least three at fenay bridge. I can see u getting a taxi from there.
Good point, will prob be an early kick off, with it being last game of season. I think I'll arrange for everyone to meet at the Treddlehoyle at midnight. I trust you will be joining us, Rothred?
