If Barnsley FC were Tescos............would you shop there again

We have a choice where we shop
Unfortunatly because we are Barnsley FC supporters we don't have a choice where we watch football..........if we did I don't think I'd go to the WELL ever again

Today I have queued for 12 Wembley tickets
Its a good job there was only a short queue because when I got to the front and handed over my bank card the women behind the counter said "we only take cash we are not set up for taking cards" I asked if she was jokeing and told her this was the year 2008 and not 1978
Who the HELL carries cash in this day and age !!!!
Only time I use cash these days is when I go to the pub

This is on top of the debacle yesterday when there was only one turnstile open for the West Stand Lower and people were jumping over the turnstiles in the Ponti End to get into the West Stand

If you had service like this when you went to Tescos..............would you go back there again ???

And even if it did say cash only...........who the HELL walks round the street with £300 for tickets in their pockets these days (dunno) ...............it just dosen't happen

Exception.......some old folk that are not up to speed sometimes carry cash round with them

 

Can you not read? I can't believe you want down to oakwell expecting to pay with your card. All the information has been on the official site and in the Chron. I agree that this is the 21st century and yes you should be able to pay with your card but BFC have put enough information out there stating that it is cash only.

 

YOu is a big bloke...whos going to mug you? ANd its been stated on here on the offal website the comical the wireless the star trek main veiwer etc for weeks.

Where ever I go eg. to pay for a new car, fridge, theatre tickets, books, petrol.......etc etc etc............I use my card
I only have one card and everything is payed through it

Me being the simple person that I am thought everything can be payed for by the bank card in this day and age.........except probably beer.
So for example I don't need to check out the Comet advert to make sure they only take cash if I want to buy a television from them

Every company every trader everybody in the whole country is set up to take bank cards..................except one - quess who ???

Yeh, if all tickets were being bought from their usual places then yeh I'd agree but everyone was told.

 

Turnstiles.............sorry - its the ticket office today kid.......AND

And even if it was the turnstiles...................you know when you go to a restaurant and they bring the portable machine over to your table so you can pay by card..........think about it FFS !!!

And how easy would it be to set phonelines up in the turnstiles

Yes, it was disappointing but not as disappointing as..........

1) no atmosphere in the TARN pubs, no atmosphere in the ground and this at a local derby. Low crowd, obviously people have bought tickets for Wembley so can't afford to go to the local derby. Poor support and this just shows what a poor town we live in. Its a cheap town full of £1 shops. Can barnsley really afford a football club?

2) having to queue and argue with stewards and turnstile staff because there was only ONE turnstile open for the whole of the West Stand Lower. Watch guys jumping over the turnstiles in the Ponti End then try and get through the gate into the West Stand - safty issues here. Openning one turnstile shows an absolute disrespect to the fans that did turn up to the match.

3) queue for tickets to Wembley (on Sunday) only to find it was cash only...........cash only in 2008!!! ???. This just underlines what a backward club we are. Again this shows no respect for the paying customer if the club expects them to walk round with 100s of pounds in their pocket so they can buy tickets for Wembley

All in all a really bad couple of days for the club.
Great to get to Wembley but I'm begining to wonder if it is detrimental to the club

 

Well I'd not think it would be a problem

for the champagne set!

 

I shop at Asda anyway!

my mates a village idiot but he took his £25 in 1's and 2's down to oakwell to buy a ticket. seen it publicised on the tinternet or something. not sure what he means but he got a ticket. he aint got a credit card anyway.
