Why didn't they contract a local catering company to do the food at Oakwell instead of the **** we're currently being served?

Just a thought. Stronger together and all that.

I'd never realised that Lindleys wasn't a local company...very disappointing to hive your business out to firms from other parts,
Warrington, in Lindleys case.My guess is that all the on site catering gear...ovens etc are owned by Lindleys in which case there will be a major capital investment to be made, however all the beer and soft drink dispense equipment will be supplied
and maintained FOC(or almost).I'd be interested to know how many other Clubs use this firm,my initial thought about their scandalous pricing was due to them being local...small...and not having the buying power, having looked at their website I would doubt this is the case.

Burnley are a great example, catered by local Lancashire company Hollands Pies, which are pretty decent! Not sure if they still are, but they had them as shirt sponsors too.

And we're stuck with fecking Lindley's on a 4,000 year contract.

The biggest problem is the utter **** that Lindleys are charging good money for. Other than a cup of Oxo I haven't bought a thing in the ground for a long time now simply because it is bloody awful and expensive. Oakwell sandwiches is excellent value for money and produce very good food - I'd love for them to have a food stand in the ground.
