If I was Shep this is what I'd do.................

Looking at the league table, its going to be a hard hard fight to get clear of relegation positions
We need someone with a proven track record to get us out of our current mess
If I were Shep I'd bite the bullet and pay a big wage for a big name manager with a good track record in this league, to try and get out of this mess
So I would appoint Ian Dowie on a two year contract
And try to keep Davey at the club as an assistant

if shepherd has got any sense he will.............

have said to Davey you've got all the qualifications so go out and take control until I've got the applications and interviews sorted. If you make a good job of it, it will be taken into consideration when you have your interview.

Shepherd will then make his decision on who applies and who interviews best.

Common sense, keep your options open Gordy.
