What makes anyone on here think it won't be more of the same next season?

I know we've missed Humey but how many of Davey's signings are good enough at this level and are Davey's tactics likely to turn the fans away next season?

I'm undecided whether we should sack him cos we desperately need some stability at the club but things haven't improved under him and the football has been pretty dire all season.

As soon as (if) we gather another five points - I'd sack him immediately.

As soon as we're safe - get rid. He has to go.

What do I think will happen? I think we'll carry on with the useless fecker and this time next year we'll be doing the sum and playing with the predictor. I actually think we'll just about survive this year - next year I think our number could be up. I don't think they'll let him go until he actually relegates us AND fails to return us to the Championship the following year (yes, I think he'll keep his job even if he takes us down).

It seems to me he's assembled a squad of players who simply don't score goals, his tactics don't help mind but it's been abysmal. Any team that's come down this season with and set themselves out to defend have come away with one or 3 points cos we haven't a clue how to break a side down, the only games we've won have been against mediocre teams who've come and played an open game.

or to put it another way

Davey is a very negative manager who sets his team up to get 0-0 draws in every game that they play. Against a lot of defensive teams this works and we play out a boring game with both teams happy to take a point. Quite often however the opposition will catch us sleeping and we leave the game with nothing.

Against the more attacking teams we still set up as a defensive side but sometimes we get a lucky break and manage to score.

At barnsley defending is important and if someone happens to score its a bonus. Davey is a very negative manager

RE: If Davey keeps us up he still has to go.

We will never be anything more than a bottom 6 side whilever he's in charge because no matter who he signs, his negative tactics will keep us near the bottom.
It's like Russian Roulette. If you're in the bottom 6 every season eventually you'll go down.

there's no way Hume would leave either after the way the club and fans have stuck by him.

    Totally agree 100%. Sadly though....

regardless of what division we are in next season I think he'll still be here, and if we do survive then IT WILL be more of the same!

Yes we can paper over the cracks by blaming Hume's injury and Colace's paper work issue but the fact is we are in this position thanks to 1 man. His lack of experience, His inability to read a game, his tactical nouse, his team selections have all cost us dear since being in charge.

He knows his head is on the block thats why he sent Kidd out after yesterday, just like the Ipswich game when he played Noble-Lazereus as a smoke screen to keep himself off the back pages.

    Useless, Spineless Welsh ******

    Davey is staying full stop..........................................

You say Davey is negative and you want attacking football.

Well we had that under Ritchie and Davey had to come in and save us from the drop.

All out attacking football has got us nowhere since Wilsons prom season.

Davey has done a good job keeping us up and he will do it again and I'm sure that if he could double the wages and bring in a £2 M player in every position he would be able to do even better.

As a club we don't have the money to bring in a so called big name manager.

At Oakwell we get what the Club can afford not wild recklessness which took us in to admin.

    I Went to Watford yesterday

And quite simply Daveys lack of forsight was to blame why we did not get all 3 points. The game was bland and uneventful in the first half, BUT if Davey had brought on Hammil at half time we would have walked through the game witjh a guaranteed 3 points. Nothing happened for Barnslery until Hammil came on. Davey should be aware that Hammil can and HAS changed games for us.
I agree with all the above , Davey cannot stay even if wee stay up. We cannot have so many near misses season after season. I think the squad we have is a top 10 squad but unfortunately the manager is of League 2 standard

Funny. I would have thought it was down to Odejayi not burying a header to make it 2-0 (or their keeper for such a magnificent save) and Muller choosing to go walkabout for their late equaliser. Each to his own!

You mean those players bought, trained, picked and instructed by Davey?

The man paid to manage the team

Yes. Maybe he forgot to put some fresh batteries in his wii remote before the start of the match.

"well we had that under ritchie"

We did indeed and we gained promotion through it. Davey then took over and on several occasions since then has had us in the relegation positions.

    Thats right pontyender

If someone disagrees with you they obviously know **** all and so you should be as patronising as you can and hint that they only know about computer games.

Muller has been toss for months and Luke Steele has been sat getting splinters in his arse because of simon Davey. That isn't wii, it isn't xbox and it isnt ps3. It's football in the championship at oakwell that I have watched

The club hasn't really 'stuck by him'

He's under contract to barnsley and has been injured for a few months. Nothing more than that really

As usual you miss the point completely. The point about wii remotes is because people seem to think he can control everything that is happening on the pitch. He can't. No-one can. The reason we are not sitting relatively comfortably this morning is because JCR missed a penalty that would have killed Forest off last week and Muller had a brain storm that gifted Watford a late equaliser yesterday. Those are clearly things that no-one can legislate for. It's 'Davey Out' at the slightest thing, even when something happens in a game we are not involved in.
