We ought to be urging Jose to part with at least £60m for him from his war chest.

If Roy actually plays him at the tournament we could be in for quite a windfall. Even if he doesn't we may still be looking at something in the region of £40m.

£40m is a minimum. All the extra sky money will be burning holes in mangers pockets. You do not stay up with money in the bank it needs to be invested I quality players. If Sones is playing for United he is not stopping United or any other team scoring. It's a win/win for Jose. Dead simple this football management lark.

If Roy plays him, taking into account how he's playing Vardy & Kane out wide, he'll probably stick young John in at centre forward or goalkeeper!

Wondering what happened to the young and hungry side that whipped Germany.

Oh that's right. Let's play a totally different formation to accommodate one player.

That's about the size of it. Vardy and Kane have to play so how do we shoehorn Rooney into the team. It will cost us at the Euros.

Play Rooney just behind Kane and use Vardy from the bench. Just an idea.

Alli also has to play centrally imo. Also what does James Milner actually do?

If the bench is in Manchester then I'd support that idea.

I called it on here the other day. The squads completely unbalanced & that he'd play strikers on the wing & it wouldn't work.

Jamie Vardy's a quality striker but he's no good wide, Pearson played him there & he was that poor they were gonna shift him on to Wednesday for a couple of million. If you can't find a role for him as a striker you don't take him.

Hodgson likes playing with one striker so there's no need for 5 strikers in the squad. You need 3 at the most. He should take some wingers. Milner's more central these days & Lallana plays better as a no. 10.

It's about picking the best team & squad, not the best individuals so even if on paper the next best wingers after Sterling are Townsend & then say Albrighton & Young (there may be others better, these are just off the top of my head), you take them.

You don't think 'I'll tell you what I'll do I'll convert Rashford & Vardy into wingers during a major tournament that only comes around every 2 years because our other wingers aren't top quality'.

It's the same old story with England managers, picking the best individuals over the best team & squad.
