As I posted below, he's not playing a Captains role at the moment, if we can judge himfrom pre-season matches. Nothing I have heard suggests he's doing what he should be as club Captain, and that could have a shocking effect on our hopes this season.

As Captain he should be doing everything he can to get us into winning ways against all opposition, whether league 2 or Prem as last night. If he's had enough, we've got to get shut and give that armband to Foster. I've not been pre-season but everything you hear suggests he's packed in.

If he has, he's a ******* idiot. He's a good playerbut has ONE stand outseason under his belt. Just one. If he's not bothered about the Reds anymore,he should at least think of his own career. If nobody comes in for him he is going to have torepeat last seasons form to get him the move he seems to think he deserves. People will soon forget last seasonif he's lumbering about midfield looking like he'd rather be anywhere else.

I think its time to get shut. If we can't/don't and he remains club Captain, we could be in the ****

Don't know where all this has come from

Howard certainly wasn't the worst player on show last night.

To be fair these are friendlies how motivated are they all to play well - most of them know they will start the season so why should they really try?

Its come from reports I have heard from various sources. Not one suggests he's up for the season. And its certainly not all off here.

That is a feeble excuse. They should be motivated to play well every game and especially against Premiership opposition that Howard (CAPTAIN) had said they wanted to prove themselves against, just earlier in the day. Superior opposition should motivate them to put on a good display regardless of the result and playing against inferior opposition they should want to embarass them like we were last night. This is down to the attitude of the manager, Bruce didnt sit silent last night he was encouraging and motivating his team throughout the game while our manager was a statue only Kidd looked animated and upset.

I think people have got beef with him

beacause they think he might be off.

He made a mistake for their first goal last night, no question, but he played OK apart from that. He made some good forward passes and won us a couple of free kicks in very promising areas. The problem last night was the system, not Brian Howard. Well, that and the fact that we're crap.

Despite the timing of the post, I wasn't specifically referring to his performance last night, I wasn't there.

I'd be happy with one more season out of him, but he's got to want to play for us. If not we're seriously going to struggle with him as Captain.

Are we making Howard a scapegoat for our very poor form?

    He already has

Hasn't look bothered in any of the friendlies, wants to leave and doesn't rate us as a team-he said as much at the open day. If he thinks that he should keep it to himself and not say it in front of the fans. Get rid.

Play with the system we did last night

And struggling is a certainty, whether Howard is here or gone, captain or not.

I would be highly surprised if the club captain suggested anything like that to fans....

    If that was the case..

He would have chalked **** on the Open Day and took the fine for not turning up, then sent a meer percentage of his 90,000 euros from his 1st weeks wages from Real Madrid, as they have now turned to him after giving up on Ronaldo.

When in actual fact he was one of the last players to leave, very co-operative with autographs and photos etc.. right to the very end.
