he sure as anything won't be playing again this season-and maybe longer. Heading a ball is a lot more likely to damage something -this is obviously a completely non-medical opinion of course

    Not necessarily

Could just be precautionary measure as I'm sure I read somewhere that due to severe head injury there may cause epilepcy or similar style fits......

My old man colapsed the other year, still not sure what the cause was but DVLA considered preventing him from driving for 12months as precaustion. I'm not expert but if you know anyone with epilepsy the will know rules and regs, but that is probably reason.

    RE: Not necessarily

Think you're right. It's due to the risk of epileptic fit whilst driving

I dont think it will be his doctors saying this it will be his insurance company.

nah, it's more likely to have been on medical advice not his insurance company...... insurance companys usually take advice from doctors

    realistically though............

if there is a risk of epileptic fits then Barnsley FC daren't let him play football due to all the health and safety considerations??

Don't think this is neccesarily related.

The DVLA will revoke anyone's licence for 6 months who has had a brain injury - you have to reapply for it after that. Hume reckoned he'd be back training in 6 weeks (of course this might be wishful thinking on his part).

Sadly I don't think Hume will ever get medical clearance to play again. No Dr would risk his career.
(And let's stop goin gon about Cheh- he doesn't head balls!)

    Our mate did

He was sat next to him during the game.

Seemed in good spirits from what I heard.
