I doubt I would go today. I always used to wake up on a Satdi with a sense of anticipation (not necessarily optimism) but that's gone. Barnsley FC have become like Everest for me - I'm going because they're there.

I know my mates are feeling the same and we are/were the type of people that take aday off work to go to Brentford and Colchester on Tuesday night. If people like us are losing interest then the club really is in dire straits.

I dont want it now and have patience in abundance but since we have returned to the Championship I have felt the same on many occasions.

Thought someone would say that but I'm just stating the facts. I doubt we are alone.

N.B the title should have read "If I didn't have a season ticket"

Since coming back to the championship I've felt the same, last season being the worse however this season as a whole my zest for Saturday afternoons has come back and despite the recent run I am really optimistic for the future under Hill.

It's not necessarily that simple, I liked Robins but when he went Hill was my choice because I thought he could achieve things on our budget.

This is not a Hill v Robins issue for me. It's the lack of progression at the club generally and the state of modern football.

I've been the same as you know but I've been willing today to come as quickly as possible since Tuesday.

    No idea why but...

i left more games early last season than in all my other seasons put together, this season partly through my 5yr old kid starting to go and partly because the football had upto new year been better i have seen all the games out upto last week. I left with 20 mins to go because my son asked to go. But never, either this season, last season or any other season have i ever got up not looking forward to going, because i always go regardless of form , believing that this game will be the turning point. The day i stop feeling that way will be the day i stop going altogether

personally I think its a cumulative effect not so much a go at Hill more a "here we go again" effect as once again for what seems to be the umpteenth season on the trot performances and results drift way from us . I can see where Hill is coming from when he asks for patience but the fact is we have been waiting for a very long time now and he can't appreciate how bad its been he only knows about what he has seen and done.It certainly hasn't helped lately though when youv'e needed a calender rather than a watch to time any worthwhile shot on goal.

I feel the same and this year they'll be asking me to renew straight after the end of the season. Although it will be at a discounted rate (ha ha) it's the time of the year I'm least likely to renew.

I think everyone goes through these stages. I was most disillusioned after we'd tasted what it was like to be in the Premier League. It was bitter and poisonous.

For years after that my football club felt like it was ruined and having its heart and identity ripped out to be an identikit premiership also ran. Bassett, a manager at Barnsley .... just wrong. Hated the style, hated the intent, hated the mercenaries.

For me, BFC is starting to refind itself. Ironic, that as I start to fall back in love with my club, others fall out of love with it.

Actually though BASSETT team played some great football and enjoyed his tenure at Oakwell.

I am going this afternoon with open-mind and hoepful anticipation that we re-kindle our form and get things moving in upward direction.

My worry is if we go a goal down then fan-base will start to go against Hill/team and that would bad.

I'll have 3 seats to myself today. Daughter ain't bothered, but then she's very fair weather. But 11yr old son who's only missed one game has just said he doesn't want to go. Don't blame him, it ain't been much fun recently.
