we have a nest in a hole in the side of our wall its really bad you go out the house you have to go out the back way else you will get chased by them
We had this thread in April last year... At this time of year, given the first warm weather, it will be a queen just come out of hibernation. The queens lay the eggs after making a small, cone-shaped nest. When they buzz round your loft they are looking for nesting material - like flaking wood etc. They lay a few eggs and those hatch quickly into the first workers which carry on building the nest - queen lays more eggs - bigger nest built - more eggs etc until you can say bye-bye to any chance of rescuing your matching set of suitcases until October! It is worth getting rid of the queens. It will save you a whole load of problems with a big nest later. Watch out for the queens on curtains when the windows have been open at the end of a warm day, or on lampshade folds etc.
