Then Brilliant, give the lad a go.... Would prefer Jewell but it needed a change and we wont have just booted up the next in line... Hell do for me!!!!!
I would actually prefer Davey to Robins League 2 is as close as FIFA09 in terms of being qualified for the job. Davey kept us up 3 times. If its Robins, I'll bore everyone to cyber exhaustion with that FACT come April.
But... Davey has gone, so it doesnt matter if you prefer him or not does it!!!! Id prefer Jewell to be honest.....
I dont see why we should pay compo to get an unproven manager at this level, when there is decent managers already available.
Davey almost took us down twice.. kept us up once. a half decent manager would of had us in mid table. you must like managers who play stupid formations with players out of position
Key word there - 'probably' You haven't got a clue how much money he would want. All I know is, he's the man for the job, he's the man we should be pulling out all the stops to get, and I'm fairly certain we can pay him more money than any television company!
League 2 manager with uninspiring stats its the bottom of the barrel, Davey has a track record in the Championship, Robins has no experience whatsoever of what it takes to make a successful Championship side. If thats the best we can do, we're totally fu.(ked.
Depends on how much Jewell wants the job, if it is big money he is after then he might have a long wait for it.
What someone earned in there last job doesn't mean they'll be able to earn that in their next. Jewell lives in Menston I think which isn't too far away and there aren't that many managerial vacancies that will comealong within a commutable radius.
neither have you your not telling me that an experienced manager like jewell would not want more money than say robbins or adkins. He can afford to wait for a better job coming up than ours.
There's another reason not only did he get 2 clubs promoted, he kept them in the Premiership for at least a season. Not so long ago he was on the England short list, not that that means much, but of the possibles, he's head and shoulders above them all. Great fit for us, if Patrick is actually serious about us moving up the league table, then he's gotta be on the shortlist, surely.
Disagree with you on that one He can't afford to wait that long. He's already been out of work for nearly a year and his last job was one where he lost nearly every game in charge, even if it was a bombing premier league team. In my opinion, if he is not back in work sometime this season he is on the verge of being a forgotton man. Are there any guarantees for him that he'll get any better offer than us? If I was him I would take it, if offered it, even if the salary on offer is a tenth of what he was on at Derby, which is likely. If he's successful, all of a sudden he's a wanted manager again. Not taking it just could mean he never works in football again. And selling double glazed windows doesn't pay nearly as well as a manager's job, even one at Barnsley.
What are the "uninspiring" stats? More to the point what's Davey's track record? Spent a decent amount of money to fight three relegation battles
Can I remind you that our 4 most succesful managers Were all unproven Promoted under Clarke in his first seaon in Management Promoted under Hunter in his first season Promoted under Wilson Promoted under Ritchie None of them had any track record to speak of We havent been promoted under an experienced manager in the 40 years I have been watching Nearest was Harry Bassett - Still would prefer Curbishley (pipe dream) or Jewell - must be a possibility - though Robins is a bigger gamble than I would take if it was me. It might work but I keep thinking of Steve Parkin for some reason
How ironic Davey had NO experience when he got the job. That didn't stop you from wanting to bear his children for the last 3 years.
