all wanted to leave, not sure about Pinnock, then there’s no point in fighting it. So how is that the owners fault?
We need to asses why players want to leave? Not all of it is just only money. Teams similar to us and smaller teams manage to keep their best players and progress but we don’t. And the policy of signing kids all the time is getting ridiculous.
As I’ve said before, players and agents are fully aware of the historic actions of clubs, thus they know they can very easily manufacture themselves a payday and Barnsley FC’s owners will accept whatever money they can get. Other clubs will lose assets, sure, but will put their foot down if they’ve lost a few, an offer is not too big to refuse and they’ve not got a replacement lined up. None of this is true of the owners of Barnsley FC and while ever that is the case agents know their players can leave for any club at any time. Lots of clubs do the opposite of this and get top money for their players. Peterborough, Bristol C for example.
I'm sure lots and lots of players want to leave their clubs, and yet a lot of these clubs manage to retain them or fight tooth and nail to get as much money as possible. We're just pushovers. Best transfer window in the club's history.
