    he was-occasionally-perhaps we didn't play to his strengths-I always felt he was more suited to a role just behind the front two-but you need 3 very good midfielders to allow him that freedom

    In his 1st full season at Scunny he played as an out and out strikeroff Steve Torpey and notched a few but in a higher league I think he's more suited to a creative role as you say just behind the strikers. It depends how a team's set out I suppose as to whether that type of player fits in.

    it would have worked better with Robben Duff and lampard as the other 3!!</p>

    yes it was a great goal but lets face it he was nowhere near consistent enough for us and he was also like a big pansy

    i had no problems with hayes at barnsley allways thaught he was a solid enough skillfull player and like someone else said we did not play to his strengths enough whicch i totally agree with.

    Exactly, if only. It didn't, we got rid. Squad much better now so no need to keep wishing our ex players were still with us.


    Was a nice goal though.
