.....will only two teams get relegated? Or will an extra team come up from League 1? I'm pretty sure that if they go bust over the summer having survived, an extra promotion place would be awarded, but if that were to happen after them going bust during the season I would guess there would be uproar from the team which got relegated having finished in 21st place. Anyone know?
Pretty sure you're right but this would mean an imbalance lower down the league structure which the football league would have to sort out somehow.
I think there'd be a domino effect with all the leagues, mate Balanced out with three clubs coming into Division 2 from the Conference and the league's bottom two being relegated. I think!
Re: I think there'd be a domino effect with all the leagues, mate Wouldn't that leave the Conference with an odd number? And would they promote an extra team from the conference south or conference north if this was the case.
They probably would, mate Especially when you take into account the problems Darlington in the Conference are facing.
Re: I think there'd be a domino effect with all the leagues, mate The end result would be that the Tommy Treddlehoyle 2nd team would get promoted to the Nelson league division 7 despite finishing 3rd on goal difference in division 8. This would create a vacant slot in division 72 of the Barnsley ladies league, which would be filled by a new over 55's team from Dodworth Ladies Circle.
The leagues just keep doing the same down the pyramid until it gets to a level where nobody gives a ****.
Re: I think there'd be a domino effect with all the leagues, mate I think it's not such a problem once it gets to regional level as they often have to rearrange the leagues for geographical reasons - ie if 4 southern teams come down from the conference one year.
Re: I think there'd be a domino effect with all the leagues, mate They will let AFC Portsmouth into the league at the expense of Fleetwood Town.
