And you do react by shouting/singing something distasteful then have you done anything worse than the instigator? In my opinion no.

Billy Sharp gets no sympathy from me if anyone reacted to his disgusting behaviour today.

Not that they did mindst, i was sat right where he came running over gesturing and i didnt hear a single comment about his son.

Don't agree at all. Call him a fat tw@t, call him a dee dar lovely person, call him a reject, all these are fair game and appropriate but never is it ok to chant about a dead child, ever.

Ok I agree it isn't and I would never do it. I think what I meant was more that if that happened then HE caused it with his deliberately inciteful behaviour.

The only thing that would trigger somebody to chant anything like that would be the person chanting it to be a moron. Seriously nothing that a footballer does to wind up a crown could ever warrant vile chanting like that. It just goes so far beyond the pale it's out of sight.

It could be said thay Sharp only did that in response to the goading from the fans.

I agree wholeheartedly, however I was sat in 2nd row right behind Billy Sharp's unprofessional goading of the fans. Many reacted but I heard nothing about his son, if I had I would have reported them myself. One fan however was threatened with being evicted for reacting with anger towards the display by an overzealous steward. I'm certain if they had heard anything along the lines of which we are accused they would have immediately evicted them from the ground.

Yes he had. It was after he pretended to eat the net after being called fat. He got it from the off.

This from a person that sticks up for Thugs!! Brilliant.

Sharp has had stick from the Reds fans for a few years, he did nothing that Barnsley players have not done before and will again.

I don't often agree with HT, but I have to respond in his defence. Did you witness Sharp's reaction after setting-up that goal today? Put it this way, had it been Rooney, or Barton, or Adebayor for example, it would have been all over Sky, all over the papers and he would likely have been facing a charge from the F.A. His reaction, trying to incite the crowd was appalling. I agree with HT, it was incredible really that there wasn't more of a reaction from the Barnsley crowd.

That's the complete opposite to what happened.

He was having a bit of banter with the 'fat lad from Sheffield' chants, eating the net etc. Then when they scored, he gave us some hammer, taking the piss. Nowt up wi' that.

It was funny, get a grip. Saw someone talking about reporting him to the Police for it. F.cking mental.

There's some pussies who support Barnsley. You sound like a right set of whining school kids.

"but Mr. Plod sir, he isn't being nice to us. Arrest him!!! "

I remember Vinnie Jones getting stick for 90% of the game, hammered he was. Then he swung in a cross which led to an equaliser. He ran the full length of the East Stand sticking two's up. Great stuff. Folk just can't take the banter these days. Gone soft.

Why is it appropriate and fair game? What kind of person thinks it's right to call another human being these things because he is playing for an opposing football team. I had o sit and listen to a 40+ year old bloke shouting 'You f@cking, Sheffield Dee Dar C'nt' at Billy Sharp in front of my 12 year old daughter. It is not acceptable and is as bad as shouting about his son - why is one acceptable and not the other?????
