If someone had told me at start of season that we'd stay up & do the double over Owls & Donny

I'd have taken it without a doubt.

Having said that, this season has been a real disappointment. We need to progress both on & off the field. Potentially we could be looking at even bigger crowds next year (with clubs like Leicester, possibly Newcastle & 'Boro, plus "Local" games V Donny Owls, Blades, possibly Leeds plus Derby & Forest).
We need to get the marketing right and that starts with the manager. Some big decisions need making asap.

    Marketing?

That word is banned at Oakwell.

10 pound tickets, 3 games for the price of 2, kids for a pound, etc.

There are so many opportunities out there but we always seem to ignore them when it matters.

    To be fair

The free kids thing was a winner, and will reap rewards for many years to come - my daughter is hooked & but for the free ST she could have been watching as many Owls games as Reds games. Just ask her where her loyalties lie. Mission accomplished. BUT as you say there needs to be more stuff like that more of the time.... and that is very difficult to do with a Board of only 3 (?) members.

    RE: To be fair

to be fair the club have made an effort this year with the marketing, there's still big improvements we can make but you have to have the personal, we dont even have a fo8kin chairman yet!! how many clubs can say that?

    We need a chairman

And a marketing manager who knows what market he's aiming for.

    Our advertising is piss poor.

    RE: To be fair

Exactly. Not sure how much work has been going on in the background, but I find it alarming that we have gone the whole season without recruiting to the Board, and without electing a Chairperson. Couldn't there be a role for the Supporters Trust?

She's the one reason I was pleased Norwich went down

Gutted for the rest of them though.

But, we do need a chairperson :)

Who would you pick as chairman?

If the only available candidates were BBS members?

    You sure?

Can you chair a meeting whilst furiously texting?.... and as for distractions...... I mean, if a waitress brought coffees in for example.

    Well...................

if he can multi-task at eating, drinking, talking whilst texting, chairing a meeting should be easy.

Only problem is the need to keep putting/taking glasses on and off.
