........... then what the club has been telling us for the last few years is a load of sh.ite !!! It has been repeatedly said by the club that they have introduced a system of playing so it dosen’t matter which manager or player leaves the club - they can be reasonably replaced as long as they fit the system. By introducing such a system it gets away from a new manager throwing out most of the players currently at the club and replacing them with their own players. We have a quite unique style at Barnsley. There are very few managers in the English game that plays in that style. Moore and Cook definitely don’t.
Stendel's starting 11 in his final game vs Preston: Collins - Now 2nd choice J Williams Sibbick - Loaned out Halme - Reserve B Williams - Injured, but current first choice if fit? McGeehan - Sold Mowatt Brown - Sold Chaplin - Irregular starter Bähre - Frozen out Woodrow - Irregular starter, played out of position I'm guessing it's that sort of squad stability we're looking to retain under this system then?
Im same, sick a this tippy tappy gegenpress ballacks, false number 9s *****. Footballs an easy game that just gets over analysed. Gets some wingers in bombin darn line and getting crosses in. Buy decent hit the ground running championship level players, its not that hard surely.
I started supporting the Reds in 1987. In terms of success/ attractive football, for myself, our top three managers/ coaches have been Danny Wilson, Paul Heckingbottom and Andy Ritchie. The common denominator in those three, is that all three played League football and two played for the Reds and therefore understood the workings of the Club and the needs of the fan base. I tend to agree we are probably going to end up with a coach that none of us has ever heard of yet again, but going by our past historical appointments, I wouldn't mind seeing our ex- defender Darren Moore taking over the reins.
If they mean it then the approach post Stendel and now post Struber illustrate the lack of contingency planning to ensure continuity. I've posted on other threads this week on why I believe appointing a manager based on the continent is likely to be more short term and given that I think it becomes more important to plan for when they leave. Ideally there'd already be someone here who could take over but we appear to lose assistants / coaching staff as regularly as we do managers. Good planning would result in a seamless transition rather than being back to square one as we seem to be. I suspect some will say we're no different than other clubs. My response is that we should plan to be better rather than making the same mistakes.
I hope and pray they are holding off with signings, so the intended new head coach can have a say. If so they need to look sharp
That's true in every walk of life though. No one can be stubborn enough to claim to know it all and not be able to learn from others
Hope this article is not correct. Don't really like his style of football. https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/sport/football/news/huddersfield-town-news-cowley-barnsley-19074157
