I think the police would need a complaint direct from the family itself but most importantly they need one from Hume if it's going to go anywhere. No victim statement = no case. It's like domestic violence cases where everyone knows the woman is getting beaten up and she even calls the cops out but then decides not to give evidence or to withdraw her complaint and the whole thing collapses.

Not sure internet petitions are worth the PC they are on

Difficult to verify them, especially when all they have is a name on

Is that right because they are investigating the drogba coin throwing and that didn't have a specific complainant

    Drogba complaint is different

There are specific laws relating to football matches and also a specific law relating to throwing things from or onto the pitch so Drogba will be dealt with under those. For this offence to be committed no victim is required, the throwing itself is enough.

You don't need a complainant for the Police to prosecute, particularly when there are independant witnesses,in the Morgan case about 20,000. The CPS obviously don't think its in the public interest to prosecute, which is b@llacks

    Not just that

without a complaint from the victim then the case won't go anywhere. It would be a piece of p*ss for the defence to get Morgan off in court if the victim had decided not to give a statement against him which is why the CPS and Police won't go anywhere near it.
