Why are they not looking at some sort of share issue to get funds in ? Is this practical ? Yesterday apparently Sheff Utd were our role model, and thats what they did times many in the recent past. Bond schemes apart obviously .............
Nope On a totally different subject, dont you think that power and ego's sometimes get in the way of things?
Tell thi what ... ... I seriously think that Ad's ideas for the club would be better than what has been done so far, which seems to be very little. I was always taught that if you fail, but tried many different things - then you won't fail for long. If you never try anything - you can never succeed. For LBP (Lady in the Radiator Song): In Barnsley everything is fine, In Barnsley everything is fine, In Barnsley everything is fine, We've got Marc Richards ... now hear them whine.
Share issue would appeal to me, if I had assurances that the money was being spent on the field. am not interested in servicing debts, thats what banks are for. I would, like many I am sure, dig deep if it meant the difference between being realistic about going up or just ringing a few managers for favours, like AR had to do yesterday. might upset former shareholders, but dawn of a new day and all that....
Well, nubdi knows **** all. We're alledgedly skint but can outbid many clubs for Paul Hayes. The jigsaw was complete but now we are apparently desperate to get players in. We're happy with the defence so much so that we get shut of Vaughan then we need a defender. Bit of consistency wouldn't go amiss in my ill informed opinion.
''ringing a few managers for favours'' I bet the Managers of other football clubs almost broke their necks to speak to the mighty Anderson Richtea on the phone. Football IS ****. I've finally convinced myself.
RE: Share issue First option to previous shareholders, maybe at discount as a sign of goodwill, then throw it open to the rest of us.
I like the way you make amusing names up I remember the good ol days of Match Re-poarts and that. Donny Races then the Oval. at what times shall I ring you?
Is that next weekend? Call me when The Killers are on. Or whenever you want me to 'put my arms in the air'. It's not really much fun on here at the moment. Now I'm making this up - so don't quote me or anything ... but's it's almost as if people are scared of saying anything. I'm not sure why that would be the case though - as I would only be worried if employees of the club were scouring the board to find titbits of info to feed to their bosses, but I honestly can't see that being the case at such a professionally run footy club. I also think Marc Richards is a brilliant signing.
a bond is a different thing though that is just a way of getting people to pledge money to the club without getting any rights or ownership back.
Yep. low low loooooow down on my priority list is sitting in an echoey stadium watching Marc Richards come on as sub for Barry F.ucking Conlon, to toil for the last minute or 2 against Forest, who will have taken all 3 points and dumped us into the bottom 3. even the bogs are rusting, ffs...
RE: Yep. I plan to go to more away games than home this season. 'Our' football club is the entertainment equivalent of watching Bruce Forsyth dancing.
Some predictions: Saturday 24th Sept: Donny at home, will be the first time the team are booed off Saturday 1st Oct: Oldham at home, will be the first airing for "Ritchie out" Saturday 19th Nov: Rotherham at home, will be Ritchie's last game in charge. Monday 21st Nov: Rick Holden takes over and appoints the local rag-bag man as assistant.
But where does it end? Rick Holden has some kind of footy qualification I think. But when Rick is fired after we capitulate to the mighty Barnet ... who next? It's only a matter of time before we accept FM2005 achievements on our future Managers CV's. I got my 50m breast stroke profficiency badge. Surely I would be 17th in line for the 'hot seat'?
