    Match Day Report
    Barnsley v ************

Barnsley totally dominated the first period of the match. Chances came and went and Barnsley on several occasions were unlucky not to take the lead. On 21 minutes the visitors had a break away and scored against the run of play. Barnsley again pressed forward after the break but the defence of ************* stood firm. On the hour several attempts by Barnsley went begging. One attempt roled across the goal mouth and only needed a touch but unfortunatly no Barnsley player was in 10 metres of the ball. The visitors went close twice in the second half but the majority of play again fell to Barnsley.
At the final whistle Simon Davey said his team had given everything but had been unlucky in front of goal

    Final Score
    Barnsley 0 - 1 ****************

For ************* put in any team in the Championship

In saying that, I didn't expect any points from any of the first 4 league games

So if we get owt from the Derby match then that will be a bonus :( :( :( :( :( :(

But we did stand a chance today but Davey keeps playing players out of position.

You be lucky for the other team just to score 1 at the current rate. Problems in defence aswell as upfront.

Agree. Davey has done f*** all to try and change last seasons problems.......Goals!!! And he's also made our defence slower and crapper than it was.

In saying that, I still support Simon Davey

First 4 games were always gunner be tough

But he MUST get the forward line sorted out.............we need more there than Maken and Hume

Slower is an understatement. My old man can run faster than Darren Moore and he's just had a hip replacement!
I believe we have good quality in the squad but Mr Davey just isn't getting the best out of them!

Darren Moore is good in the air and thats all he's ever going to be good at at the min. He has got a experianced head i'll give him that.

It's ok good in the air but when teams play it through the gaps on the floor for 100mph strikers to run onto, Souza and Moore are going to be screwed. Everyone can see that apart from SD.

Glad you say we miss Nyatanga, the majority were under the opinion we wouldn't

Most teams in the chapionship are going to play it on the floor cos they have pacey strikers. Moore and souza simply cant handle them.

And yes we miss Lewin, he bought pace at the back which we need now and he also brought team spirit.

When we signed Moore I thought he would be a bit-part player, early viewing doesn't suggest that!
Frustrates me that we have our Player of the Year out of position, and my view is he's not looked comfortable in the three games I have seen him.

SD said today that goals change games....

We aint got forwards that can change a game..................

Maken and Hume are good............but like I said before the start of the season.....what happens if one of them gets injured or suspended ???

I feel we can get goals out of both of them, prob we have is keeping them fit AND actually keeping them in the positions they should be in (i.e. not coming too deep or out wide)
