Certainly true with regard to car insurance... my lad left home to live in Athersley it cost him £850 a year to insure his car. he lost his job and came back to Dodworth.. he now pays £650 for the same cover...

 

Sister just moved to Worsbrough Dale from Brampton. Because she informed the insurance company of her change of address, she's now been asked to pay another £100 plus. just like that!!

 

I moved about 150 yds. On my insurance renewal to get quotes I mistakenly put in my old post code at one point and it made a difference (to my loss) of £150. scandalous.

 

So areas with more car crime have higher car insurance......who'd have thought it?!

 

If only

old address, cheap insurance, cars broken into / damaged many times.

New address, expensive insurance, never heard of any probelems in 5 years.

Try being a 23 year old single lad living in a Wombwell council estate and asking for car insurance. That's f.cking scandalous.

 

Just do what your neighbours do and don't bother

Interesting though. Thinking we might move next year so this is another thing to look at....will have to do quotes for areas that we look at houses in!
