Keith Hill will walk away from this football club taking his backroom team with him. That would be to the delight of some on here no doubt. But I'd be careful what you wish for. Who would want to take over this club on the money we can offer if the previous manager was hounded out despite securing safety comfortably in a season where for differing reasons he kept losing his best and most influential players, and a club who's fans question every decision a manager makes as though they are the reincarnation of alf Ramsey? I appreciate this forum is here for us to discuss and debate, to express opinion, but when that opinion is to state that the manager should be sacked when we are in as strong a position as we have ever been for ten years or more is unfair. Question a team selection, question tactics, criticise individual performances. Fine. But don't keep up the verbal assassination - if the club loses hill, mark my words, you will regret that you hounded him out.
I've said the same thing and under the circumstances I wouldn't blame him one bit. Losing Hill would be nothing short of a disaster for us right now but it seems some fans wont be happy until he's gone.
the same fans will then disect the next manager and the next and so on, every club has fans like this and am sure hill isnt that naive that he doesnt know this, if he was to walk away from a job just because some fans didnt like him the he wouldnt deserve to work in football again
Theres b@ll@cks and then theres total b@ll@cks, the idea that Hill is so sensitive he will resign over The reev wanting him sacked is total b@ll@cks........Hill Zealots ought to get a grip
I agree but I'm a Hill Zealot so I would wouldn't I? Troff - what you say is not ballax. People should start to recognise what he's trying to build (Academy 1 Manure 0) Durkar - in my opinion you're wrong - sorry, your opinion is ballax on this one.
So you think he is that sensitive You think he's so thin skinned that you think he'll walk away because one person a a bulletin board has said he should be sacked. Doesn't sound like you've got much faith in him to me. I'm not nearly as mental about Keith Hill as you are, but I think he's a much stronger person than that. You clearly view him as a little woodland animal.
Steveos aboviously thinks Keith Hill is a vole Or a shrew or a hedgehog or something that scares easily. Personally I think he's a man. A pretty strong willed man at that with a lot of grit and determination. Someone who won't walk away just because a nob head on an internet forum says he should be sacked.
Re: So you think he is that sensitive It's not one persson though is it? That's the problem............and if he wasn't wound up by it then why would he mention it?. I'll not change anyone's views., but I wish I could. It's all about trying to be a a bit more realistic and positive and patient. That's all he's asking for in essence. However there are those amongst us (and I don't think you're one of them) who will forever destructively criticise to the point where he (and others would do the same) - will just think fook it and go elsewhere. I agree with you that he should have thicker skin in his occupation but that's how he is; and I hope he is a stronger person than I am suggesting. And yes - I do think he is a lil woodland animal. All furry and cute and sweet - I'm thinking a tiny little fieldmouse that a tiny baby could cup in her tiny little hands with her tiny little fingers.
Re: Steveos aboviously thinks Keith Hill is a vole ...and on that we agree - (not the shrew hedgehog thing) hope you're right.
I think he's got much thicker skin than you give him credit for I think he likes to complain and moan about fans but I don't think it really bothers him deep down. He strikes me as a bloke who could cope with anything.
Re: I think he's got much thicker skin than you give him credit for Again - hope you're right. In my naievely utopian mind I'm wanting him to grow with the club and love the club and its fans and carry us forward etc...........,as football fans we dream of better things and he's capable of helping us with that. I guess my chief worry is that he'll get his head turned (and we know it happens) by another club and feel no compunction about leaving because of the nobheads; the small minority.
If Hill walks away it wont be because of the views of a few fans on an internet forum No one who has been involved in football for any length of time can seriously expect to be universally liked by all the fans all the time so wherever he goes he will get the same Of far more concern to me is his relationship with the club management - Hill knew that we hadnt much money and is happy to work with that but he was clearly very unhappy with the sale of Vas Te for what he has said was not enough cash I think if he feels that he is meeting his side of things but then the club are selling the assets on the cheap that is a more likely reason for him to go I even wonder if one of the reasons we have been playing so negatively recently is to emphasise the fact that his creative players have all gone and make the point to Don and Patrick that there are consequences of selling players too cheaply for short term gain
Re: I think he's got much thicker skin than you give him credit for You have your opinion, I have mine..... Are you suggesting that is not allowed Kim jong ll? Hth
Let's get real here. If Hill of his own volition leaves it will be for the advancement of his own career. Just like when he left Rochdale to join us!! Or was that because some fans moaned on a message board? I think he is doing a good job on limited money. But the setup in the last two games has been negative and I'm not sure why. Not 451 per se but the lack of attacking intent. I believe in the players, Hill did I'm sure, we can beat anyone when we do the right things.
