It will have been an excellent transfer window. To be honest. I'm more impressed with the players that are being moved/ moving on.

Connell leaving for a decent fee and hanging onto Russell, Phillips and DKD would be immense.

If Russell’s contract has only this year left then we need to either extend or make him available for transfer. Prioritising keeping a player who will walk for free in a year is bad business and will worsen our financial position for later seasons.

I agree. I'd like to keep him. Hopefully the club can pull something out of the fire because him re-signing would be like a new signing.

This. Can't afford to lose a 7 figure asset for nowt next summer.

Id actually be more desperate to keep Connell over Phillips and Russell (possibly controversial I know)

But feel he suits what Conor wants more, and we can really up his price with a good season under his belt.

Phillips and Russell should command decent fees anyway cos of the goal output they give. Especially Phillips who's consistently decent in that regard. We already have a better attacking mid in squad than both Russell and Phillips anyway with DKD and not to mention we have young Vimal and the experience of Didzy who can also play there. Connell is our most experienced option as a holding mid. Him with Bland or the new lad alongside gives us way more balance and then DKD ahead.

Obvious from CH interview yesterday that RB and a winger are the priorities currently.

Are striker and a right sided centre half will be the nice to have.

Its not bad business if nobody comes in for him.

I would prefer Aaron McGowan RB and Tom Hamer CB and a CF if possible

Given we went to Wales last week. Working on our plans for Plymouth. And again this week. I'm not so sure we'd throw anyone in to start the game at this late stage.
Outgoings are anyone's guess. Those worth owt, I can see em here till the last day of the window. Or I'd reckon they'd have gone by now.

My gut feeling is that the players being brought in so far are sensible additions. I don't think at the moment that the board have been stupid like they have in the last 2-3 seasons. Everything seems a bit more focused. Still short of two or three in key positions but I'm a bit more optimistic that the board may actually be learning. I could be totally wrong though...

For me if we keep DKD and sacrifice

    Phillips Russell and Connell

I would be ok, subject to signing a couple of solid replacements.

DKD is not very easily replaceable

I'd be very disappointed if we don't keep Russell. He hit peak form at the end of last season and apparently continued in that vein in his appearances for Jamaica. It would be great if we could get him to extend his contract. If that's not possible, I still think we should keep him, if he is not the subject of a very large bid.
