This season we finished with only two away points less than Preston (6th)</p> It's eight home defeats that have done for us this year I'm affraid. Turn three defeats into draws and four of the draws into wins and viola another 11 points and we're 10th.</p> Also four wins in 2009 is abysmal</p>
RE: agreed -Fortress Oakwell was demolished this season I think !! nt This has to be the tactics and formations deployed at home. Davey has to stop being so bloody stubborn and learn from mistakes. When we're at home we should let the away side worry about us and stop with the fecking defensive formations. Davey's stubborn streak, arrogance and him not learning nearly took us down. the fact that I find interesting (and worrying) is that...... .....nearly half our points (24) came from playing against 4 teams; Wednesday, Doncastor, Burnley and Plymouth. Out of interest, when was the last time we completed 4 doubles in a season?
RE: the fact that I find interesting (and worrying) is that...... We've only had two doubles in the previous two seasons. Watford & Preston (07/08) Southend & Hull (06/07). In our last season in League One (05/06) we did six doubles - Swindon, Forest, Oldham, Walsall, Gillingham & Tranmere.
No no no no no no no. We need to be better. We have been consistent, consistently bad, if we could just be better, even if inconsistently better then that would be fine by me. It's no use being consistent if we are losing or drawing! As a statistician you should understand that one surely.
RE: I would like to see us play a different more positive system...... I would like to see us a little more positive in our approach next season. I don't like the 4-5-1 formation would rather see 4-4-2 or even go with wing backs in a 5-3-2 formation. Danny Wilson played with wing backs and this coincided with the best football that we've ever played. "IT's JUST LIKE WATCHING BRAZIL" Would also like to see SD given a 12 game chance next year, got the job done in the end i suppose. Who knows, big Michael Joseph "Mick" McCarthy may be available if wolves don't get a good start.
??? better than 19 points from 10 games ? well yes I'd like that but 19 will do me just fine-87 would get us automatic promotion or playoffs every season
