RE: well said that man Do you think Donny have a chance to go up as well? it would be great if both teams went up together.
Also one of the reasons your ticket prices have been so high is because Gordon Shephard and the board have been reducing your debt. As a football fan i don`t like to see high ticket prices, but for you lads in a couple of years time you should be on a good financial footing. Then who know`s?
RE: well said that man consistancy would be your main problem. i dont know donny could make a push into play offs, important period coming up now
For the 50 billionth time Higher ticket prices does not necessarily mean more money. Our average attendance is about 1,000 down on the last 3 seasons, despite us performing much better this season, and is at a ten year low.
RE: For the 50 billionth time LOWERING THE PRICES DOES NOT GET MORE PEOPLE THROUGH THE TURNSTILES EITHER. THIS IS AN ARGUMENT NEITHER VIEWPOINT WILL WIN.
where do you get that from? average attendance as dropped by 1000 after the prices were put up. This clearly proves that when prices are lower more people will attend.
RE: For the 50 billionth time I`m a season ticket holder at the Rovers, with the new stadium next year we havn`t got a clue how the prices will be affected. Hopefully not by too much.
RE: where do you get that from? How do you know the drop in attendences was a direct result of prices going up. Many people had already said that after the last couple of seasons they wouldn't go regardless.
hmmmm In your opinion, why is our average attendance down by about 1,000 on the previous three seasons in this division? Particularly when you consider that we are performing far better. I don't claim to be an economics guru by any stretch of the imagination, but I do know that the price of a product has a direct correlation with the amount of people who purchase it. The ticket prices for category A games in the Ponty have risen by over 40% in the past 2 seasons. Try sticking 40% on any product you care to mention and see what happens to sales. To say that price has no relation to sales figures is extremely naive.
RE: I agree that season ticket prices are reasonable for this division The average may be inflated over the previous 2 seasons due to the fact that Sheff W were in our division and we had big crowds for those games which brought the average up hugely. Other clubs with lower ticket prices also have lower crowds. Like I said no one can win this debate.
Over a season A 20,000 crowd for a one off match will improve the average attendance for a club that usually gets 9,000 by about 500, which still leaves us 500 down on previous seasons. As I said, price does effect sales. Every economist who has ever lived knows that. But I'm not trying to 'win' this argument. Without interviewing every single stay away fan there is no proof of why attendance figures have dropped and even then there's probably numerous factors. But the club would be extremely foolish not to question whether price increases have been a factor in the reduced attendances. The fact remains that attendances have dropped despite the team playing much better and it's not only me who has showed concern about the prices.
