...this should comfortably pay off Davey, and give us enough dosh to pay Billy Davies's wages for a couple of years. How many would take that if offered at the minute? I'd snap someone's hand off personally.
and billy davies will be different to spackam/parkin/bassett/hart/thordason/hodges etc etc im not having a go but when ever we sack a manager we ( me included !! )always seem to think the next one will be the messiah... rarely happens i guess....
I'm not usually one to advocate sacking managers but enough is enough. Out of your list, Gudjon did amazingly under the circumstances but was shat on from a great height and although his football was a bit dull I reckon he would have got us promoted given enough time in charge. Bassett was a penalty kick away from getting us back to the prem, and Spackman. Well, I was in the "Spackman In" camp when he came, thought he would indeed be the messiah. I was wrong.
RE: Forget Billy Davis How can you be so sure? You were doom mongering last night that if we do sack Davey whoever we get in will be even worse. Can you substantiate this? Not being confrontational, would just be interested to know as you seem pretty concrete in your assertions.
personally id have bassett back in a shot , barnard scores we are in the prem again.. ( might not have been that simple but it looks like that) the list was just off the top of my head who'd had a go at it , some were sacked too early , some should never have got the job in the first place.. that was sorta my point i guess that spackman was seen by many to be the manager we needed... in reality it proved otherwise. better the devil you know ???
RE: i'd like Holloway. he was good at motivating crap players. Holloway has the experience at this level and has worked on a tight budget. At least his media interviews are always interesting!! He says what he thinks and wouldn't spout the same ***** excuses week in week out like Davey.
what bout ian holloway, surely hed be up there on most peoples lists, did a sound enough job at plymouth......
