will season ticket holders get in free and the "others" be charged, or will the club look to make more money out of the large screen and car parking charges as usual.
The Club Will Charge Everyone Who Wants To Watch It They are a business and so fans shouldn't expect another freebie and so soon after the Southend coach one.
I don't think it will be a money making exercise. I wouldn't be suprised if season ticket holders got in for free or at a discounted price.
Some People Are Treating Barnsley As A Charity When They Are A Business Free coaches to Southend wasn't enough. People now want to get to watch a big screen for nothing. Do they expect Cryne to write another cheque to make up the revenue lost? If people aren't willing to pay to watch their team play one of the most famous teams in the world and in one of the most famous grounds in the world (even on big screen), then we have problems.
RE: Some People Are Treating Barnsley As A Charity When They Are A Business Its alright for you, you've got a fecking ticket ( lol. I do agree with you though.
Yes i've a ticket thanks to joining my mate and her brother who queued from 11 and joining them at 1 lol. If I had joined the back at 1, I would have missed out as well by the sounds of it.
so you have got a ticket by jumping the queue and sneaking in in front of those that had waited how very honourable of you
No because I wasn't sorting the tickets out. I went down to keep them company and give them some cash to go with the booklets.
RE: Some People Are Treating Barnsley As A Charity When They Are A Business I think they've got some fans to get back on side personally.
There's a small dot in the distance... you won't ever find it I'm sure, but it's the elusive 'point' I assure you. If the club allows free entry for ST holders that missed out due to their ludicrous ticketing policy, they MIGHT just win back some of the goodwill lost, and that will be worth far more to them than any loss they might make on screening the match. Not that the gate money from Anfield isn't enough of a bonus to make it viable anyway. If they can get the live feed, they should have done it anyway.
RE: The Club Will Charge Everyone Who Wants To Watch It You put the screen on for free, but open the bars for people to buy pies etc with their own dosh, thus getting a bit of dosh out of it, possibly covering the cost of the screen hire with a decent crowd.
A bit like the open day really.
Or at the least they could let us watch it on the 21" telly precariously placed on top of the Ponty End bogs. That would cost 'em nowt.

RE: Some People Are Treating Barnsley As A Charity When They Are A Business Yeah, Southend on a Friday night. Hardly a gesture that all fans could take advantage of was it?
Plus the only reason they did that is because the club allowed the fixture to be changed, thus inconveniencing their customers yet again.

well.... big telly in oakwell freezin cold.....will leave it ta....... will watch it at home for nowt on ESPN or summat...
RE: Some People Are Treating Barnsley As A Charity When They Are A Business That's right - everybody's praising the Club for the 'Southend gesture'.
Have you all forgotten they only did that because once again they'd fecked up and pissed the fans off?
Maybe they think we'll forget the Liverpool fiasco as quickly.

I had to pay for 24 quid for my ticket If people who missed out are getting freebies I want summat for nowt an all
Having sold a significant number of tickets to at best non-season ticket holders, and at worst armchair Liverpool fans ahead of mine and my family's, I think they have significant goodwill to make up. Most 'businesses' wouldn't balls up to this degree in the first place. Come to that, neither would most Charities. However it is universally recognised in business that if you mistreat valued customers, you are well advised to make it up to them. I've said my piece on the subject already, but at the risk of labouring the point, I have only held my ticket for so long because of the security it is supposed to give you on big days like this, and that illusion has been exposed warts and all this week. I don't save money with my ST - I miss 5 or so games most years due to holidays and other commitments. If BFC want a renewal after this they had better ask themselves whether charging me £5 or 10 to sit in front of an empty pitch in a half-full stand is a good idea or a bad one. What a clueless response that was, DB.
