Lots have been said about formations etc Picking wrong players Would we have viewed formations / players differently if we had taken some of our decent chances. If we had won 3 -1 I bet most of us would be saying we are on our way back Fine lines etc
Agree to some extent but ts happening game after game. Matches we should have won have been drawn and matches we should have drawn we have lost .if we had picked up a few more points to keep out of the bottom three maybe he wouldn't be under so much pressure from the fans fine lies indeed
Sorry but how many times have we failed to convert good chances this season? Too many!, Which to me says things aren't looking good on the training ground as well as on matchday. A change is needed all around.
Have you ever watched the players take shots into the training net on the pitch before games? Its embarrassing
If we'd have scored yesterday, we would be berating a 1-1 draw. A result which still would have been poor.
Aye, no own goal we come away with a point, another clean sheet, continue the unbeaten run things maybe look a little different. Thing is that the cautious approach to games, especially against fellow strugglers, is as depressing as the results have ended in those games. at the moment I don`t think we are too far off winning games if he would only release the handbrake.
There isn't a fine line between 1-0 and 1-3 though. From the little I listened to the game, it was a drab affair with few chances. And in the final 20, Millwall wanted it more. This was a game we were hoping to win, and we set up in the completely wrong way. Mellis isn't a winger for one.
I like the handbrake analogy. I've just looked at our scoring record for the second half of last season. With the exception of the obvious Charlton blip and the odd blank, we were popping in 2's and 3's for fun. Positivity is the only way, we've proved we can't play for a draw. Positivity at least if we go down, we'll go down fighting. Something which seems to have eluded him? If he goes for it, he might just keep some fans on his side. However, the damage I fear is already done.
thats my big problem I like to watch sides trying to win games. Compare the way we set up at Huddersfield last game of the season where we played for a win were the better side but in the end had to settle for a draw and it was entertaining to watch This season we are going to away games against poor sides and out whole approach is based on not conceding and maybe nicking a goal. if it was working I could accept it though it isn't how I like us to play but in practice it's not working and it's the opposition that's nicking the goals. The times I have enjoyed watching the reds is when we have played positive attacking football under Hunter , Wilson, Bassett, Ritchie and last season under Flicker. It's also generally when we have been more successful
Good teams and managers make mistakes and still win. Whether we would have got it right or wrong yesterday, we would still have lost because we are not good enough. I'm not for sacking managers and still believe Flicker can turn it around but fine lines are missing out on the odd point or two every couple of weeks if not months. Against Wednesday, Donny, Ipswich and Charlton we should have won in one way or the other and those fine lines are keeping us second at bottom, three points behind Charlton.
