This is a difficult one because watching football is expensive but say we stayed in this division which fans would be prepared to pay more for their season tickets in order to give BFC more money to compete. ie if ST went up by £25.00 who would decide not to renew? Just wondered as I cant do one of those polls.
!00% guaranteed to go up next season ........ ...... they would have definitely gone up this season if they had waited to announce the prices till after the season ended
I'd probably renew.. although £300 is getting a bit much. And I would question if the rise would actually help the club compete. A wholesale change in attitude needs to happen at Oakwell in order to maximise revenue streams. See Sheffield United
I would.......but I don't think the money would do anything except disappear. 25 quid on 6000 season tickets would give 150000 pounds. I would pay the extra if I thought the club would say "look, here's a player and he was bought with the money raised from the raise in season ticket prices." Just wouldn't happen, they'd hope that after a while people would forget about it and we'd continue signing unproven league one players.
RE: I'd probably renew.. True, put also look at their ST prices!! We are one of the cheapest in this division. Say an extra 5000 fans were prepared to pay the £25.00 extra that would be an extra £125,000. That could be an extra player at our level ie a Kiegan Parker etc.
i'm not sure i agree, i think there is a flaw in your logic. remember, shep does it for free, cryne loaned us the money and isnt receiving interest - so noone on the board is doing this for the money. therefore where is it going to disapear to?, maybe in the past, but not now. therefore, the reason we're buying players from div one, the unproven ones, is thats all the ones we can afford. if the club had more money, it would be spent either on the ground or on the players (or a really expensive manager as some want on here), thats the benefit of our board, its not trying to make money to take out of the club, its trying to make the club self sufficient.
RE: so theyre going up then Nowt to do with me just asking a simple question that the conspiricists will jump on and twist a la you. Would you buy one or not? Yes or no?
I would renew if rises were within reason If we want an established Championship club, we have to accept that this means budgeting like one.
The BBS is full of complaints about paying peanuts in wages and making low transfer offers to clubs for players. But we cannot afford to spend more money if we are not getting more into the club. Be this through sponsorship, gate receipts, whatever, bottom line is, the money has to come from somewhere and this will mean ticket prices rising.

My decision (or non-decision) to renew has generally never been affected by the actual price of the ticket as, whatever it is, its still cheaper than paying game by game. The question to ask is whether you're likely to go to enough games to justify the cost of a season ticket. If so, buying one should be a no-brainer. Ironically, I'm now in the situation where I don't get to all the games because of the distance (I live near Milton Keynes) and could genuinely answer no to the above question. I've still never doubted buying the season ticket though, to date.
just like 'your mate' was buying his season ticket and saw jay tabb? and I don't think I would, I have little or no faith in the board
RE: NO I WOULDN'T!!!!!!!!! For me to think about purchasing yet another season ticket next year the club & players have to show some passion and ambition. I can not bear to think about watching performances like Leicester, Sheff Wed, QPR to name a few anymore. If the players aren't going to show commitment, then why should I or another 5000 fans paying an extra £25 (eg).
I have a season ticket, and it is fast becoming a big struggle to pull myself to a game.

I'll pay the extra money for Championship football I won't pay the extra money for Division 1 football .
If we are in rhe Champonship next season I will buy a season ticket irrespective of the price. If we are in League One, sorry I'ill pick and chose my matches for the first time in years. I, like many others, suffered the dross we were served for three years, but I am not willing to continue to do so, because the board are unambitious.
RE: If we are in rhe Champonship next season I will buy a season ticket Its got to be tricky though. If they gamble and spend a few quid and go down then that may jeopordise the future of the club. If we dont invest we will go down. Very difficult balancing act I would suggest.
