No doubt 3 seasons of survival in the Championship wll ensure his permanent job. I am sure the powers that be will say 'Better the Devil you know' or words to that effect.
Massive mistake if thats the case, season ticket sales will plummet...... and any remaining confidence in the club will ebb away, 7,000 crowds will be the norm, the biggest cockup the club has made in recent years was giving Davey such a big contract he has effectively got Cryne and Co over the proverbial barrel, I've missed 2 games at home this season and for the most part I've come away from Oakwell feeling as though I'd been mugged, substandard football because we've got a substandard manager.
RE: Massive mistake if thats the case, season ticket sales will plummet...... So if we go down and have a new Manager they gates will be higher than your 7,000 figure. I think not.
If he stays then he has to identify realistic transfer targets IMO and not put all his eggs in a 'Kevin Phillips' size basket.
I'm very patient when it comes to the managerial position but if he is our manager and we haven't improved by the end of next season then he should be replaced.
I'm not a 'Davey lover' btw I just think that a manager should be given a fair length of time to prove themselves and I think 3 & 1/2 seasons is reasonable.
I know that my views are not fashionable particularly with the 'me me now nowhireem fire em' generation but it's my opinion.
Oh improvement to meisbeing constantly between 10th and 15th all season, see not much to ask.
