and we follow the ballot system put in place when we thought we might get back in the ground earlier in the season, would you want a ticket for the play off game at oakwell, or hope to miss out for a better chance of a ticket for the final if we were to get there ?

As we have no idea how many would be allowed in wembley come end of may, use todays figure of 8k to make your decision. 4k for each club

would getting a ticket in a ballot for the semis, discount you from applying again if we managed to get to the final? not sure I agree with that rule, if it's true.

If i remember correctly if you got a ticket for the first game you went to the back of the queue and those who didnt moved forward. Not sure if there is any other way to do it, hence the original question

If 8,000 are allowed in Wembley today then surely it has to be a higher figure for a month's time. It will be a month closer to "normality" so I would at least double that, or quadruple it. It's a 90,000 stadium so I don't see why you can't put between 30 and 40 thousand in.

Your logic is sound but it’s not as if our government has shown a lot of inclination to follow it I will be surprised if more than 10000 are allowed in to Wembley

The Road Map states 10,000 from 17th May or a percentage of your ground. Whichever is lowest.

Based on that it will be 3,700 at Oakwell and a minimum of 5,000 reds fans at Wembley. It will be increased though as the whole aim from 17th May is moving towards increased crowds for the Euros and that only happens with test events. Playoff Finals will be test events.

21k expected allowance for the fa cup final 15th may. 25% capacity. Today was a trial.
May 17th restrictions lifted in some instances. ? Unless we go into another lockdown/restriction by then. I reckon all season ticket holders will be covered.
Unless The Don comes back that is.
    Copied below

    21,000 fans

On 15 May - two days before the government is due to ease lockdown further - the FA Cup final at Wembley will take place with 21,000 fans. Anyone who attends any of the trial events will have to prove they have had a negative lateral flow test (LFT) result in the past 36 hours.18 Apr 2021

You also have to factor in travel aswell. Im not sure 200 coaches of beer guzzling reds fans would be allowed in the current climate.

To answer my own question though as much as i would love to see us get promoted at wembley i think that first game back at oakwell would be a special occasion

I mentioned this last night, but based on the 20k planned for the FA Cup final I'm sure there'll be a similar number for the play-off final. The issue is that for the test events, half of the tickets have been allocated to locals (were half donated to NHS workers today?), so if that carries through we're still only looking at 5k. But maybe for the play-offs, there may be more of a focus on getting the tickets to the teams involved.

I suppose after the year we've had, we have to consider anything a bonus. If going to the semi removes or reduces your chances of getting a ticket for the final if we get there, I'll accept that and hope for a result in the ballot, because I'd prefer to watch us at Oakwell. Equally I'd be gutted if I missed Wembley as a result, but pleased for the Reds that got to go.

What I'll say again though, is I don't want to see the club try to stratify season ticket holders based on loyalty points, reserved plus etc for these games. Let's make them as widely accessible as it's possible to be, within the current limitations. We've all suffered and waited so long, the focus should be on rewarding as many as possible.

Same here. I have missed my second home for over a year, so if going to the semi final means I couldn't go to the final I would accept it.

It would be nice if we made Wembley that both clubs got 10, 000 each & the there would be no arguments as every season ticket holder from this current season would be able to attend, but being mindful of what has happened in India, where 6 weeks ago cricket fans were allowed into grounds & what the situation in their country is now, then attending sporting events might be handled very cautiously & rightly so .

I suspect now play offs are confirmed we will here from the club very soon to give the max time to sort everything out. It wouldn't be a surprise if we heard something today.

I understand the gesture to key workers for flagship events but I wouldn`t expect a great take-up for tickets from those sectors for something as partial as play-off finals.

I thought the limited numbers were so they could at least spread out and social distance seats.

So I was rather surprised watching the league Cup final, and they were basically all shoved into a couple of sections. Whilst vast swaiths of the ground remained totally empty.

    Bizarre to say the least

As bizarre as 50% of the crowd being neutrals when both clubs have tens of thousands of fans who would have loved to have been able to go watch their team play.

All I can think is its to do with the logistics of everyone getting to and into the ground.

I've missed Oakwell so much, I'd prefer it to a possible Wembley ticket.
