and were constantly winning at home, we'd have crowds of 12k+ each week... FACT regardless of the price.
Yes we possibly would. If we got promoted and were in the premier league all of a sudden we'd have a ground packed to the rafters with fans who suddenly can find the time, money, inclination to go.
old hat this thread archey. thereev said it ages ago...FACT. Please use your own material hope this helps
There are people who genuinly can't afford to go... My brother's mates all had a season ticket last year, but most of them can't afford it this year so they're going to go to the cat B & C games, however I think many are using it as an excuse because they didn't agree with Hill's appointment, or the players he signed. There was a lot on aminocity (sp) when he first came, and for me this is the main reason. I mean I could be wrong, but that's how it seems to me.
Re: There are people who genuinly can't afford to go... I dont doubt that there are fans who genuinely cant afford it but there are fans who will only go when we have a big team at Oakwell. These are the fans the marketing team have no hope of getting through the turnstile.
no ...wish i had now cos i could sue you!!! we are right though....win and people will turn up...simplez!
In a 23000 seater stadium there is a pretty big window over 12000 though. In the top 6 winning at home every week and charging 30 quid we might get 12000. Charge 20 quid and it might be 16000. If our ambition and goal is to get just over half the stadium full when we're in the play offs then keep the prices at 30. If our goal is to play to a full stadium securing a large fanbase for the future then 30 pound tickets are too expensive.
how much were tickets in 07/08 season st because we got in to top 6 then after beating blackpool on sky in about december and i cant remember 16,000 crowds.
Yep and if Aston Martins cost a grand I'd have a dozen but they don't and the reds aren't, so you've got to price accordingley and no matter how much I love the reds I can't justify £50 quid to take me and my son to a championship match let alone £100 quid for two in a week not with a mortgage to pay and before you slate me for not having a season ticket I have to work most match days so it's just not worth it for me. I've had a season ticket before and if work allows will have one again but at the moment I simply can't afford the amount of money I'm being asked to pay to watch the reds and to be honest it's ****ing me right off but what can I do, but in the long run if I don't take my son he'll lose interest and join the glory hunters and follow one of the big 4 like his mates do and the club will miss out on a future supporter. The club need to understand they are losing their future customers, I'm 44 and can remember as a kid going with me mates and the ponte end being full of kids not now and it's all down to the price of attending matches. If a club like Barnsley don't get em young they don't get em at all. If you insist on charging £30 quid for an adult ticket let em bring a kid or kids up to 16 years old for a fiver each, think about the future you need to keep renewing your customer base and at the moment BFC aren't to the levels they need to and lets face it the grounds not full is it.
very well made point Mr S Footred. this really is basic stuff BFC...........lose the kids and the club will die. No kids = no future cos they wont go and then they in turn will have no desire to take their own kids. If you don't understand this principle BFC...you are fooking stupid............kids under 10 should be free.......end of.
It's a bad example that season mate, because our biggest crowds that year came towards the end of the season, despite being at the wrong end of the table. It was the cup run and a series of well followed opposition and local matches which drew the crowds at the end of that particular season.
The point i was trying to make archey was that the crowds weren't that big. In December non of us knew about the cup run and we were doing well. Was in one loss on august 7 or something and next one come around 10th of january and the crowds weren't that big.
