... and Mr Mandaric pulls the trigger, would anyone on here fancy Dave Jones as a replacement for our Keith? Could be interesting if his first game in charge was against the Wednesday fans who have been calling for his head.
Well... considering he's been playing Jermaine Johnson as a right-back, signed Mamady Sidibe on loan and is failing to do anything with Bothroyd, plus the fact that Sheff Wed's record is worse than ours, just, I'm not sure he deserves the job more than Hill. I'm actually staggered how badly he's doing at Hillsborough.
At this point I would take Jones, he has a decent record at this level. I'm more worried that if they win they go above us and they are having the worst season ever according to their fans. At least they haven't had five years of this.
I'm not sure Dave Jones would be the right answer but if he became available I think he would be a better option than some of the other names banded about, given his historic record at this level. If we can keep hold of the 4 loan players I think we've got at least 7/11s of a decent championship side. Perhaps a manager with a more direct style who isn't against playing wingers and putting balls into the box would get more out of the players than Hill currently is? I think the big problem at the moment is that Hill's tippy tippy style doesn't allow us to be 'Battling Barnsley' any more and, unfortunately, I can't see him changing his approach.
We may need to be 'battling barnsley' to stay up, but it wasn't long ago people wanted us to move away from the kick and rush, battling style and attempt to play football. We need to mix it up, I certainly wouldn't want a Blackwell or Megson punting the ball long for 90 mins.
