Why not set up a petition? Or get in touch with the club direct, and put across your issues with it?

From what I've read today, most of the stick aimed at the club is regarding the actual quality of the options.

I said to r lass when I first opened the link, "they're all too similar" and after a minute or two looking at them you notice all sorts of **** ups. However, I did vote for option B. Mainly, because I can't stand our current badge/crest.

But for me, instead of us bairning on here, why not get that petition sorted, or contact the club?

I'm sure Mansford will listen. It's a very big decision and if as many people are as alienated as the response on here/facebook/twitter suggests, then he'd have to listen.

Why a petition? There is the option to stick with what we have - just select that instead

Aye, but the BBS is just a very small % of the fan base. But you're right, there's a few moaning abart it, but then some folk aren't happy unless they've got something to moan abart.

If BFC change the emblem, they can always modify this again, at a later date.

I don't know what the big deal is.....

No. You select that option if you like it, surely?

If you contact the club, perhaps they'll alter the designs a bit. The red ******* roses etc.

What about using the old crest which simply said "BFC" on a red shirt with a white crew neck.

Folk would moan abart that, I'm sure.

Club tries to make a positive difference, ends up with a minority of Mona Lisa's.

I think the new badge designs are OK, although I'd like to know who has designed them, and why they think these designs are appropriate for a red shirt? The colours would surely only work if they were inversed on a fully red home kit.

What would you think if the club changed our kit to blue and white stripes ?

    That's new............ joking like

It's not the change folk are opposed to I reckon it's the amateurish efforts of A B C and D

Your angle on this is the quality of the badge options (and it's a fair point).

I'm not gunna answer the question about blue and white stripes, it makes me feel sick.

I'm a retro kid. So my choice would be the Oakwell (maybe slightly tweaked) badge... reasons

    (1) don't like the white rose badge we had promo season. I know we're from Yorkshire but it even before the redesign I can't think of owt else than L***s
    (2) town crest (it's not council it's tarn) is too complicated and as much as I appreciate the history and heritage I'm not a fan
    (3) Toby even though ive a tattoo I'm not a fan:-/,
    (4) new stuff - all ***** IMO - amateur and poor

The Oakwell badge is the only 'unique' to us badge. Maybe 4 tweeks of that for me would have been better?

I'm old school, the new offerings are too USA for me. That's all

There's always a few who will just accept any old ***** from the club, too.

I'm with you on this. I think there's a couple of really good options there. Some people have made a valid point about the red rose and with it being on a red shirt - and I agree with them. I voted for B, but would prefer it to be an entirely white rose. All of the options are better than what we have, IMO.

Those opinions are like bum holes....... I disagree like but we can't all be pleased.

If the public have been asked to choose 'that's new and a step forward.

Although I'm not blown away by the new designs, I'm glad that the majority of posts haven't just said "why change it" or "leave it as it is", which seems to be the typical Barnsley mentality to any sort of change. At least the majority on here don't seem to be of that way of thinking, it's only badge like, but it's a start.

It would be meltdown if there was ever a major decision like knocking down Oakwell and moving elsewhere - don't get me wrong I would shed a tear if that ever happened, although I do think it has a strong chance of happening in the next 50 years, could even be in ten years, access to Oakwell is terrible (as an event venue) yet potentially extremely valuable for property development. Wouldn't be surprised to be watching Barnsley in an identikit Keepmoat style stadium at the side of the M1 in the not too distant future.

Which would be devastating in my opinion.

I'm all for progress. I'm all for positive change. I'm against losing valuable elements of our history in the pursuit of it though.

Definitely would be devastating, but do you think Maurice Watkins and Ben Mansford look at Oakwell and think of anything more than a set of decaying structures which are hard to get to? Depending on how we get on over the next few years, a move might be a lot more attractive financially than refurbing what we already have for no real gain. Those of us that have been going year in year out won't like it, but we'll still go, and then of course with a new stadium you get the bandwagon effect of other people turning up - where this coincides with decent form these new fans stay (see Swansea etc).

This is all completely hypothetical anyway, just saying other clubs who have been more precious towards their original home than us have moved.

Like the West Stand Bogs, for example! Which I've still only ever seen in a photograph in a truly excellent publication ;-)

Thing is it isn't just a badge IMO . It's identity , a connection and an important element in our marketing!

We have months of posts on here every season bairning what the kits are gonna looking.

For me the badge/red shirt are the most important. It's my bug bare. Love tradition and as such I would welcome and appreciate a newish take on a classic. Not an NFL attempt on a rebrand!

    Just me like !

Yeah but hasn't the badge design changed a load of times over the last 25 years anyway? I don't remember much, if any, consultation in previous years...it was a case of seeing the new kit and noticing we had a new badge!
