Ok I realise this isn't the most politically correct comment ever, but does anything good come out of Afghanistan? If terrorists aren't trying to blow people up, then some nutter on our streets is taking the drugs it produces. Not to mention the bribery. Today I watch this with some disbelief: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-21242302 Just one of those countries where you think it would be better just to start again.
Nuke the kids! nuke the kids! Just dont show me the burnt corpses afterwards. Id rather see X-Factor and laugh inanely.
I think it is US, Russian & UK foreign poilcy that has left the country in the state it is. If I was you I'd delete this post...
No it isn't it's the radical and frankly medieval beliefs and practises of the people who have influence in these countries.
FRANCE, THE FRENCH, FRANCE,every toilet in this country should be plumbed into the channel tunnel and we should flush the b@st@rd twice a day then nuke the shathole again, and again, and again, then burn it
And why do you think things have reverted to tribalism & superstition? If we had thirty years of bombing the **** out of this country we'd probably be trying witches again
The fundamental problems have existed in these countries for centuries - some of them still think and act like its the thirteenth century. Stoning people to death, extra-judicial executions, fanatical mobs tearing people apart on the basis of hearsay, female circumcision, child wives, forced marriage, women’s rights, Sharia law, and many more issues are nothing to do with the foreign policies of the West.
Sounds just like Christian fundamentalists, or any religious fundamentalists. The difference is fundamentalism and radicalism only flourishes in places that suffer repression as it is a response to injustice. Hence the prevalence of fundamentalism in countries that have been conquered, subjugated, robbed of natural resources, divided, bombed and colonised by others. Or had no democracy as dictators who are kept in power by the west as they are seen as favourable to our interests. I have no time for any religious fundamentalists. But a failure to understand the reasons behind its existence is to complete misunderstand and excacebate the problem
This thread should have been deleted, IMO. The title is ridiculous. I suggest the OP takes a look at the after effects of a nuclear attack, particularly how it affects human beings. It's not anything I'd want to be associated with.
Re: FRANCE, THE FRENCH, FRANCE,every toilet in this country should be plumbed into th we'd pull all the missionaries out 1st though
My friend and former colleague Shafiq is from Afghanistan and is a very kind and decent man. Damned good cricketer as well. Lost half his family in indiscriminate allied attacks nearly ten years ago, his Dad was a doctor and his Mum a teacher. The kind of innocent deaths that go unreported here. He has a very passive and spiritual way of dealing with this tragedy. To be honest, I think I would arm myself to the teeth and fight back by any means possible if that were me. But there you go, some lives are deemed more valuable than others.
Too right. The longer this stuff goes on the more my stomach turns to watch them banging on about those poor lads sent out to far flung places to die in a pool of blood. Or is that oil? Anyhow, those military pieces they do are like something out of a dystopian novel a la 1984.
Not sure waiting for a 1000lb bomb to fall on your head from billion dollar killing machine is any better.
