winning the play off or winning the world cup? Would you rather see your lot lift the world cup (assuming that your all english that is) or would you rather your club lift the play off trophy and svens boys go out in the first round. Over the border we get sven and his boys rammed down our chops day and night due to having a so called brit media (wheras we all know its not) how many of you follow club and country or is it mainly club and take or leave international football? For obvious reason I shant be wishing you luck on either front because they'd both ruin my summer(hidebehindsofa)
Reds..every time. I would like england to do well but I need Barnsley to do well for the sake of my mental & physical well being and self esteem!!
RE: Win on Saturday please Don't care about England. Most of the players are odious and objectionable for one reason or another. Owen - hate him. Beckham - over-rated show-pony. Robinson - horrible Leeds ming-mong. Ferdinand - money-grabbing chav who switches off at a moment's notice. I feel no affiliation with them, and find it hard to wish them well. Yes, I was born in England, before you ask - but if it came down to a choice between England winning World Cup after World Cup until the universe ends, or Barnsley scraping into the Championship, I'd definitely plump for the latter. It's a few weeks until the tournament starts, and I'm already sick of hearing about the spirit of 1966, football coming home, England expecting, etc. etc. (zzz) (zzz) (zzz) This country would be absolutely unbearable should England win the damn thing. It was bad enough when the egg-chasers had some success the other year. Heaven forbid the footballers follow suit.
Got slated at work for exactly this. Barnsley to win the play offs. In a heartbeat. Not even a split second to decide.
Over the border we get sven and his boys rammed down our chops day and night Not true, sometimes we get welsh games with two men and a dog watching on the telly, when there is some real football going on in England. Mine it was even worse when I lived in Scotland - they cover minor league games before reporting on any English games, even though more Scots follow English clubs than local games. REDS to get promoted - none question
The reds to win the play-offs, but ....... .... it's a close call cos I'm very passionate about England and as soon as Saturday is over I will be looking forward to my trip to Frankfurt on 9 June. By the way, despite the responses above mine, don't be fooled that nobody in Barnsley gives a **** about England, there will be loads of fans who are equally passionate about Barnsley and England in Cardiff this weekend, very big England following in Barnsley and loads going to Germany to cheer Sven and the boys on! (england) (england) (england) (england) (england) (england)
We saw the our international stars of 10 years ago playing for their various clubs when we were (briefly) in the top flight. They were, with very few exceptions, a set of overpaid, underworked, spoilt, jumped up, overgrown schoolchildren. Such was my distaste for this mollycoddled shower of whinging brats, that it is only now that I am starting again to give the first f*ck about how the England football team fare. Given the choice of England winning or not winning the World Cup, then yeah, It'd be good to see a win. But a World Cup win as an event in my life, as placed aside Barnsley winning on Saturday...it just doesn't even bear comparison.
RE: We saw the our international stars of 10 years ago Michael Owen was, is and always will be a diving cheat.
RE: Win on Saturday please Agree 100% mate. Over rated and over hyped just like the Premier League. Best league in world my fecking arse. Only four decent teams simply cos theyve money to attract players. La Liga and Serie A are far better leagues, much more strength in depth.
