If you go in at half time only 2-1 up (because your three most experienced players stood about like statues the only time the opposition kicked the ball in to our half) instead of 4 or 5 up like it should have been, if you miss another one on one at the start of the second half, then you give the opposition belief, you give them hope they can still win the game because they know they should have been dead and buried, so they've nothing to lose. If you also believe you've done enough to win the game and don't dig in when the opposition step it up then **** like tonight happens. Digby looked superb in the first half but went missing when we needed him in the second. That's what sometimes happens with young 'uns. Similarly Bree was having a tough time, so I could understand the substitution but Brown was bloody awful when he came on, backed off like he always does and didn't stick with his man who put away the third. Awful that Brown, just awful. We even missed another one and one at the end that would have levelled the game. Good football, poor finishing, shocking defending. Haven't had a drink since the Rochdale game. Was planning on doing three weeks. I could ******* eat a bottle of gin, glass and all.
One of the most unfathomable substitutions imaginable. Reece Brown is fast becoming one of the worst full backs I've ever seen. Worse than Kennedy or Wiseman without a doubt. And he puts him up against the quickest man in their team. And Wilson put this defence ahead of Bobby Hassell
I agree they should have been dead and buried at haif time, but at 2 up we started feckin abart playin keepball rarnd our own area chuffin KHiller style, that is never gunna end well.
We were playing well doing that. In fact it was great to see. It was abysmal defending from a hoof ball which cost us. Downhill from there after that.
On a similar note, when was the last time we came from 2-0 down to get something in a league game? (2-2 draw in JPT aside) Can remember us chucking plenty of comfortable leads away, yet other teams don't do this against us. Desperately frustrating.
That's how we scored one of the goals. There were about 30 passes. The keeper boots it up, people moan, we build from the back, people moan. Not aimed at you by the way, but I don't know know what people want. Well, I do, they want us to defend a hell of a lot better than we did tonight, but I enjoyed the way we built from the back in the first half. It didn't remind me of Hill because more often than not the passing game we played ended with an attempt on their goal. It was the big boot from them that did us for their first, not us retaining possession. I thought first half was the best football we've played in a long time.
I just want to never see Reece Brown in a Barnsley shirt ever again. Any chance you could sort that out for me?
So you didn`t see any fannying around in our haif then, and I never said the first goal was caused by feckin abart ararnd our own 18y ard box. I agree on some of the stuff played was good but at two nil we took our foot of the gas and started to fanny ararnd instead of goin for the kill.
Read above if thats what you want to see back passes to keeper and back and repeat you would have more fun watching em warm up.
Am not that annoyed, we again showed the good the bad and the ugly in 90 mins. No worries, and for the Hill thing it wasn`t a go at Danny it was summat I`ve seen on a few occasions this season trying to play in the wrong areas of the pitch whilst been closed darn. I now need a cig.
More the inability to go in front and carry on playing as we were to take the lead in the first place. Instead we take a lead, go defensive trying to defend it, panic and lose. Lost 6 points in four days from a winning position. Not good enough.
