Have stayed down and have a season at the top end of the old third division? Serious question. It was always going to be tough if we went up. I know before the playoffs while I hoped we won, I was pretty sure it would be lots of fun one the day but that fun would be short lived. On balance I'm glad went up ... despite it being a bit miserable. But I can see others may disagree.
Rubbish. I wish we'd gone down to the 4th tier of English football - just so I could say "aarrrhhh - told you so, or summat". What a joeyfied question. It's like saying: Are you glad your lass smoked you off - or would you rather have had your knackers mashed in with a meat tenderiser? FFS sideways - with an afternoon cream tea.
Like most folk I'm glad we went up and I always thought it was going to be a struggle. I was under no illusion and always thought and still think that we'll go down. The fact we've struggled isn't the reason why I haven't enjoyed the season, it's been because for the vast majority of it the football has been bloody awful to watch and when this is combined with every time we've had an opportunity to pull away from the relegation zone we've served up a performance of such ineptitude it's untrue (e.g Colchester, Norwich, S.Wed), it has led me to get a bit disenchanted with the whole affair. But because I'm stupid I'll be here again next season regardless of which division we're in.
i have this conversation with my mate sometimes im glad we're rubbish cos at least you dont get the cameras and papers sticking their ore in everyday plus when you support a crap team its always easier to get served in the pub before the game cos there int as many people there.
It seems very few have enjoyed this season But really did anyone expect to based on results. The analogy question I prefer is Would you go for the gauranteed blow job from a ugly bird (winning in the old third division), or stand at the bar talking to the stunner hoping you get lucky(limited satisfaction in the old second division). I think most people would hold out for the stunner, but some might go for the cheap thrill.
Delighted we got promoted if just so I don't get DVT from being crammed into Millmoor or Hartlepool's ground. And certainly up to Oct/Nov the football we played was beyond anything seen for 6/7 years, and the opposition was not the clogging ***** of League 1.
I haven't enjoyed the antics surrounding the manager's position nor the addition of League 2 standard players to a team that's trying to stop in The Championship.
Deliberately or not, it's been inferred that we'd be getting quality players and Ritchie replaced by someone who could take the club higher in the League and maybe even promoted. I would suggest presently that the reality bears no resemblance to that whatsoever.

Simple answer: I'd chat up the fit bird - then think of her while the ugly bint was smoking me off. Not sure what that means to the footy analogy though. I think it might end up with us losing in the play offs or summat.
Closing your eyes and imagining the fit bird The football equivalent of borrowing a friends glasses next season if we play Yeovil and telling yourself all through the game that actually we've qualified for Europe and drawn Celtic.
Like it. What if I backscuttle the ugly bint round the back up against the bins ... then quickly nip back in & pull the fit bird (obviously conducting a Gentlemans wash inbetween)? I think that might be like playing an understrength team against Leyton Orient because we've drawn Colchester in the League Cup, or summat. I've no idea what the **** we're on about now.
Glad we went up, but as AR decided he was going to give the lads the chance to prove themselves, only he knew what he was trying to do, whereas everyone else knew we needed strenghening from day 1. (in fact we needed strenghening before we went up!!!)
RE: Yes I knew it would be hard I agree with Dirk, the football played at the begining of the season was a joy to watch. The Sheffield match put the dampner on my enjoyment. We have filled the club with average players to try and stay in this division, when all it wanted was 3 or 4 quality players when we were flying. Nar this season has been crap, i'm glad we came up, but i have a gut feeling that all the hard work getting here, will be blown away in one short uninspiring season. (titanic)
How many of us said we would take 4th bottom this season we all knew it would be hard, we all wanted to get out of the 3rd division At the moment 4th bottom is still very much possible
Its also a sickener to see chopra top scorer in the division I wonder if we could have pushed the boat out for him rather than going with what we had.
OK, I get the picture I'd assumed that based on the amount of people saying that they hadn't enjoyed the season, some might be wishing we'd stayed down. I thought that was a bit crazy. I see from the responses I'd misunderstood. I haven't been able to make many games, but the ones I have been to ... only one was anything other than insipid.
