Results and performances would not be any better than before. We would of lost 1-0 to York with minimal chances. We would of had 5-10 shots against Port Vale rather than about 20. We would of won but even more unconvincingly at Oldham. We wouldn't have almost equalized at P'Boro in the last minute or had nearly as many chances there. We wouldn't have got a penalty or even looked like scoring against Sheff Utd before injury time. The game at Wigan where he ran the show would not even have happened. Basically most of the credit for the slightly better results has got to go to AH. If he was here for the games like Altrincham, Crewe, Fleetwood and Doncaster I believe those games would have gone very differently and we would not be rock bottom.
We would 'have' And if we hadn't scored in any other games we'd have lost even more. So if we sign another couple of players in January and win more games it doesn't really count ? Because performances & results would have been worse if we hadn't improved the team ?
I think Conor Hourihane has been just as influential. But yes, I agree that Hammill has made a big impact. Let's hope one of our centre halves make a similar impact.
I'm just glad we signed him and he seems as though he has his personal issues all in order. Our gain other clubs loss. His influence and ability will be of paramount importance in the next few months
Re: We would 'have' So to summarise we have to slaughter the board/johnson when they get transfers wrong, but when they get one right give them no credit whatsoever ?
Re: We would 'have' Johnson deserves slaughtering were bottom of the league. The board deserve slaughtering for appointing him. One swallow doesn't make a summer.
I say we sack the manager then. What does he think he's doing bringing in players that improve us. The b'stard. Incidentally, if Hammill hadn't played in the games you mention, I'm pretty certain we would have selected a different player in Hammill's position, who may have contributed in some way to a result, rather than go with 10 men. Pleased Hammill's here, great player, probably our best and there's no doubt he's improved us, but we're not suddenly a one man team.
Re: Use of "of" instead of "have" It's getting worse though. I'm reading people saying:- " a went into town and a saw someone a knew at school. a should of recognised him."
Alternatively... "Hi, can I get a medium latte and an overpriced bun please"? No... it's the Barista's job to get it ffs Rant over
