A few folk on here have had a go at Patrick Cryne recently. We are still waiting for the so called takeover so here you go. We’ve had this question a few times before I know!!! But what would you do? We’ve sold Winnall, Houriane, Roberts etc in the last year. Would you put your hand in your pocket and subsidise their wage or sell them on and purchase lower league players at a fraction of the price? Before the regular bullet firers have a go at me it’s only a question xx
I would have added to the squad in January not decimated it. It would probably not have worked but you get chances like that every 30 years at a club like us. We have spent a lot of money creating a good L1 side since then.
Your right it could have paid off big time for PC abit spent and players kept in January and who knows. The rewards in pound notes would have been much greater than letting some of your best assets dissapear
What I would do is flog anyone or anything not nailed down to the highest bidder for multi millions of profits, replace them with second rate cheap youngsters from the lower divisions and at the same time claim credit for some sort of strategic master plan - i might even give it a catchy name like say ‘The Plan’.
Id be flat out trying to move the club on, to someone who can give the club what I cannot any longer..
