it was simply down to the 2 centrebacks how many goals we concede I could just about accept the Nyatanga thread</p>

however it is far more complicated than that-the 2 central midfielders have a great deal to do with it-if they are being overrun then the pressure is bound to be on the centrebacks</p>

also if the fullbacks are being run ragged and crosses being peppered in then again it pressurises the centrebacks</p>

we look far better defensively this year compared to last whichever pairing has played (I'm still reserving judgement on our club captain)</p>
