We came into this season clearly needing to strengthen with McPhail, Shuker and Carbon leaving and the squad barely good enough to go up. We signed Togwell who isn't good enough at this level and McIndoe who's contract wasn't worth the paper it was written on. Since then we've sacked the man who got us here and signed 4 players. Only one was good enough and played 2 games before the unfortunate stabbing. We come into an important local match down to the bare bones having to play a bloke who isn't even close to being good enough in his natural position never mind centre midfield. We've got a keeper who's a liability, a centre forward who would rather play right wing and a left back who's a right back when there's a left back on the bench. The new manager should be in position by now deciding who's in his plans and identify transfer targets for the window but no. Well Mr Shep another chance to get the waiverers back into Oakwell failed miserably and spinelessly today and one look at the near empty Ponte end near the final whistle will give you an idea of life back in League 1 if we go down.
Only one point I'd disagree with there mate We didn't have to. What about Tonge, Wroe and Healy to name 3? OK, none of them worldbeaters but it shouldn't have taken long to work out that Williams couldn't cut it in that role. Unfortunately, one of the above was only drafted in 3 minutes from the last whistle instead of shortly before the first one. A baffling, and possibly costly, decision by Davey which backfired most horribly.
You're right Can I change it to "playing a bloke" God I hate Sheffield Wednesday. There weren't enough Wednesday haters in Red shirts today!!!
RE: well said I went to palace and Wroe came on as sub. He played well so why doesn't he get a chance above Williams ?
