I'm 48 and have never looked forward to a game as much as Sunday's.

In all probability, I'll never see Barnsley in an FA Cup Semi-Final again in my lifetime so I'm determined to make the most of it. For one game, at least, I can forget about our league worries and enjoy one of the biggest days in the club's history.
The league form since the home game against Wolves has been shocking (with the odd exception of WBA & Ipswich) and is a great concern. However, we still have six games to accumulate enough points to stave off relegation. Time will tell whether we're capable, but I think we are.
I've never known Barnsley do anything the easy way and this season is no exception.

I feel the same and after Sunday whatever the result the players can then concentrate on survival.Don't forget everyone, the players don't want to go down and I think we have enough winners in our squad to make sure it doesn't happen.

Reading some of the posts on here

There doesn't seem any point in turning up on Sunday and we're relegated already. Hopefully, the players don't adopt the same defeatist attitude as some of our fans.

They have been doing in away games!

  5. Precisely, I don't agree with this "rather have three points" nonsense

Nobody wants us to go down, me included, but come on!!! Getting to this semi-final will live longer in the memory of Barnsley fans than surviving one more season at second division league level. If we go and actually WIN on Sunday then the team that took us to the final will be part of Barnsley folklore for centuries to come.
FA Cup glories last longer than league survival. Think back to those dire seasons in the late 1980s when we just survived, and nothing else, in Division Two. Relegation this year is a big worry but hey.....we are in the FA CUP SEMI FINAL. Means something to me does that, after following the Reds for the last 46 years :)

    That's true

However, I think the players have the bottle and ability to survive.

    Let's hope so.
We all want it desperately and if they have any pride then they should want it too.

Some of the posters on here make me more depressed than our league position. We can't do anything about the league until after the weekend so lets celebrate what we have achieved so far.Barnsley in the FA Cup semi final,I can honestly say I never thought I would hear that in my life time.

I find it difficult to comprehend

    That they don't.
I'm an optimist and believe we'll survive.

    Exactly

Time enough to worry about the league position. Let's enjoy the build up to a huge game in the history of our club.

I hope I'm still that giddy when I'm in my forties.

You really set a good example for your generation.

That'll be me celebrating Kayo's hat-trick on Sunday. In my defence, I'll have been out the night before.

It is. Unfortunately, that's me in Quasi's at 2am on a Saturday. I don't exactly mingle...
