We blew it and it was our fault but this sort of reaction- turning on all the players and the manager after a DRAW when the play offs is STILL IN OUR HANDS is absolutely unacceptable and is exactly why we won't get anywhere as a club if 1 draw is all it takes to turn our players from play off heroes who won a trophy and gave us the biggest half season points tally in my memory to villains that need sacking/ dropping/ abusing. Don't think the players don't feel it and it will absolutely hamper us going into next week. We did get it wrong today but this reaction is not good enough.
No. Not for me. What wasn't good enough was the attitude of at least half of today's team. What wasn't good enough was Sam winnall being so inept Ashley fletcher was essentially a sole striker. What wasn't good enough was that last fifteen minutes, and the team, not the fans, got exactly what they deserved. A fan should never boo their own team. But to suggest we shouldn't criticise them after a game in which we were playing against a clearly woeful side, where we were arguably lucky to get in front, but from that point on against ten men and without a proper keeper, we never had as much as a shot but passed it around at the back like we're Barcelona? No mate. Sorry. They've been in the main fantastic since Christmas, achieved a lot, and had deserved praise for doing so. But that doesn't mean we can't criticise them for bottling it on the occasion we could least afford it. They have been a team to be proud of but they have let us down today.
It's entertaining though, I'm laughing my ****** off. Sack the manager (or don't appoint him), sack the captain, drop the captain, drop the player of the year, drop somebody, sack someone else, change all the midfield, bring in players who've hardly played for a one-off game against the champions, all our players are ****, our 20 goal striker is rubbish, we've no chance even if we win next week, S****horpe will win 5-0, we've been rubbish ever since LJ left. Have I missed owt?
They will have my full support at Wigan next Sunday but they deserve all the criticism they're getting this afternoon. Totally unprofessional from them today. If the stick they're getting provokes a reaction from them next week then all the better.
They have nothing to play for and therefore nothing to lose. I don't think they'll role over if they play some young hungry players who aren't there just for the pay or appearance bonus or whatever else some of their over paid, over rated players get then they might just cause an upset.....
