There's no footy. The weather is *****. Transfers are non existent. Work is dull. I have no money. My life is a routine. The country is kack and nothing will change post the GE. Slugs are eating everything in the garden. I have no motivation. I'm bored.

Me too mate. No George this weekend. Laura having Jamie's (new partner) son up for weekend. Didn't want to stand in the way of progress.

We literally found a woodland walk that started about half a mile outside of Alderley Edge and went into one big circle but the walk was brilliant. Some ‘expert’ walks up and around hills. Best walk I’ve done for ages in terms of challenging and views at the start wasn’t bad either. Ended up having a bottle of wine in the village afterwards as well which was another highlight.

Sounds great, it's never easy finding routes when you're in a new area, that's why I love the Holme valley because I know it fairly well.

Aye, we try and give new areas a visit, normally for a walk but for some food or beer afterwards.

Me too mate, start with a breakfast and finish with a pint is a lovely walk. Id recommend the Fleece pub at Holme for a great starting point for a walk, I was there today and it's spot on.

Download an app called ‘AllTrails’ I’m on the free version no need to sign up and pay. If you use the search bar there’s set walks showing the routes and distances. It’s like Google maps but has the footpath overlaid If you click on the navigation button it’ll show you exactly where you are when out and about. I’ve also app called ‘Komoot’ which is similar I paid a one off fee 5 years ago as I used it to plan a coast to coast bike ride but sure you can use certain parts for free aswell.

I use these 2 to plan walks all over in areas I don’t know they’re brilliant!

That could have literally been written by me.

Sprog 1 in Liverpool, sprog 2 in Oz. Unemployed and rattling round the house with Mrs Mac. Can't afford to retire despite having worked non stop for 41 years next month (albeit last month with no work).
Slugs and 10billion ants spoiling my garden too.
    Roll on August.
