did people think we would win? should we have tried to sit back and defend and not have a go at them even though it has backfired on us a little? Im actually happy we tried to have a go at them and created some good chances admittedly some poor mistakes have cost us but I really dont see this as a reason to have a go at them. we are missing 2 CB's who I presume will start majority of the season, personally im still confident we will finish around mid table and don't understand the reaction but I appreciate im in a minority here.
Perspective is key but personally I just find the individual errors and missed chances so disheartening, as I'm sure others do. Nobody expected us to win. But that second half was pretty atrocious and arguably we've caused our own undoing. And it's worrying as losing is infectious, and after that second half we really need to get it together. Focus on the league!! Big game Saturday.
Not concerned about the score but concerned in how we conceded . If Chelsea had been brilliant and scored ten in first half it wouldn’t have concerned me with the fire power they possess but to concede four as we have tonight does concern me especially after the Reading Game and to a lesser extent the Luton Game . My concern is we not learning and we can’t score that’s more important than goals against to an extent . We kept a good Chelsea side to minimum chances first half but shot ourselves by gifting them instead . After four nil game over we were chasing shadows . I’m worried about our confidence in individual players seeing chance after chance spurned then mistake after mistake gifting teams . That was our downfall in the seventeen game winless run last year I just hope we don’t get into another rut like that .
It's this for me. It hurts more when you know it should've been different but for self-inflicted errors. I'm not for a second suggesting we should (or even could) have won, but a 6-0 is pretty disheartening no matter who you're playing.
Exactly this. If we'd have lost 6-0 due to 6 beautifully crafted goals by world class footballers then you hold your hands up and say well played Chelsea. But 4 of the 6 goals were due to our own naive tactics and we were the architects of our own downfall.
